Did Karol tell you what the commercial was for? I asked above, but he never replied. All I know is that there's probaly no outdoor filming around here for a while.
I think some people here said there was a Thunderdome thing at Burning Man.

He didn't know a lot about it.. but from the little he mentioned. I just wasn't interested. If I were going with the costume perhaps I would have felt differently about it. It had something to do with Mailboxs? I know we have Mailboxes etc.. and Postnet here. I really don't know anymore than that.
Yes I know about Burning man, and Iam considering going to that. I just need to get a bit more information about it. Thanks Karen

The "Death Guild" have a Thunderdome at Burning Man every year and they even have a few cars tricked out to look like warriors of the wasteland. You can find their web site by doing a google search on both and Burning Man looks pretty neat as well.
Burning Man,Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and Sturgis Motorcycle Week are all things on my "To Do List"...as well as setting up a "Gimmick Ralley" (see SCCA Racing) alla Mad Max in the Big Bend region of Texas.
Cheers,
Step

Well I looked at the burning man site.. if they did it last year they didn't post any pictures on it. I also have contacted the Burning man people by email. Waiting for a reply from them
If I can work things out I plan on attending this year, and bringing the Auntie costume.

Do a google search on the "Death Guild". You'll find it easier..they're a clubber party group from San Francisco that I think have fallen from Burning Man's favor and therefore not really published by BM.Which is kinda ironic considering that BM is supposed to be about "acceptance" and "tolerance" but yet they mock christianity and all organized religions except eastern religions and they don't like the Death Guild.

Well I had looked at Death guilds site. I did write a letter to two of their representatives and haven't gotten a letter back. I also wrote to the Burning man people with no answers from them.. Well if it doesn't work out its ok.
When you say Big Bend of Texas, where in Texas, that is one big state! I used to live in Fort Worth, but that was sometime ago. Thanks

Big Bend is a geographic region west of the Pecos River to El Paso...you know ,where the Rio Grande "bends "around Texas and makes that funny shape in the west.Lots of desolate land where you don't pass anyone or anything for hours! Lots od two lane blacktop with no cops and only Border Patrol who aren't interested in speeders.
By the way I'm a suburb of Dallas so know Ft. Worth like the back of my hand!

Hey people...
I didn't realize there was all of this chatting going on in here! I haven't checked the forum since I found Karen's e-mail address.
Yes - the commercial. It was for a "Mailboxes & Copies" franchise in Kansas City. Basically their storyline was Auntie & Guards riding on some truck with a gun mounted on the back. Auntie leaps from the truck and lands in front of the store. Auntie & Guards enter store. There is a bright light. Suddenly, Auntie & Guards transform into Matrix-style business people who have come to take care of business errands. Once they're done, they leave and magically transform back into Mad Max characters.
Not only did the story sound corny, but as I was trying to negotiate some payment, the guy I talked to kept downplaying the importance of the Mad Max costumes I was going to supply him. I told him if all he wanted was a few seconds of someone in some football pads, and someone who could pass for Auntie, they could do it without flying me out and borrowing (for free) our very high quality costumes. It wasn't worth it at all for me or for Karen. And I got the impression they were incapable of comprehending not only the quality of the costumes, but also their monetary and sentimental worth.
StepChild: how do you know so much about Death Guild?
