Thanx, Mitch..
The Parts page was down lat time I looked. (Got that site bookmarked. Love dreamin 'bout those Falcons)
And no way would I remove the fender bulges!
I like the ol' gal curvy.
The primary (Visible) mods I got in mind are a Black pain job, maybe some Zoomies, Edelbrock Wheels and a Ford Torino Shaker Ram-Air scoop.
The side flutes are an interesting idea, worth thinking about, but not decided upon yet.
I'm building an Interceptor INSPIRED car, not a replica.

what font would you say is close to matching the lettering on the back of the yellow cars?
I think Eurostyle font Bold and stretched to widen it is pretty close, but not exact. Anyone know the exact font?
Although they are not replicas, I plan to have "INTERCEPTOR" on the back of my Monte Carlo, and "PURSUIT" on the back of my Caprice.

Forgot to mention before, I've found a few sites with Information, Parts & Installation for AMC's
For those who are interested.
A small selection:
http://www.angelfire.com/wi/mikeswwwsite/fuel.html
http://www.classicone.com/wsc/catalog/amc/amc_per1.htm
http://www.showcars-bodyparts.com/amc.html
A strong suggestion: If you build an AMC, FIRST thing that should be installed is a High pressure/High volume Oil Pump.
Th stock piece on the AMC V-8 is aluminum, and expands at operating temp.
This radically reduces the amount of oil that reaches the rearmost main jounals, Rod bearings, Camshaft bearings and Camshaft lobes..
This is what prompted the engine rebuild on mine all those years ago..

I like AMC and most of the cars they produced. A friend of mine had an awsome Rebel that would have made a great Holden replica. But Chevy parts are more ready available. I can practically rebuild my Nova from a catalogue. Rather than the exterior details, I believe what is most important is how feel driving the car. When I'm cruisin' down the outer highway at 120 mph in my Nova, I feel I could take on the Toe Cutter's gang and a whole army of Bezerkers.

I like AMC and most of the cars they came out with. My friend had an awsome Rebel that would have made a nice Holden replica. But Chevy parts are cheaper and more ready available. I can practically rebuild my Nova from a catalogue. Rather than the exterior details, I think the most important thing is how you feel behind the wheel. When I'm doing 120 mph on the outer highway in my Nova, I feel I can take on all of Toe Cutter's gang as well as an entire army of Bezerkers.

go to this site. They have f/r spoilers, fiberglass f/r bumpers (nice for a molded in custom look), flares for the 68-74 Nova and many other things for 60's-70's-80's cars. You'll have to call for part availability and pricing.
I'm assuming from your post that you already have a Nova. If not, take a look at the 'hatchback' version of that body style. Fold-down back seat and the hatch consists of the rear window and trunk area. They are kind of rare, but neat.
And I'm still waiting for someone to do a late 70's Roadrunner/RT ( Factory black Aspen/Volare two doors) Mad Max car. There are some pictures of them on that site also.

Mitch,
There are so many posts here everyday it is hard for me to keep up, so I don't know if you saw my post asking to see pics of your Impalas.
I have a website of scary battle vehicles. Interdictor and his Subaru are there and a few others from this forum I think too.
Here is my website:
http://www.zebramoth.com/
I have thought about going to Burning Man, but glueing Barbie Dolls and stuff all over the outside of the car or turning it into a giant Chia Pet don't do anything for me. I am more into turning them into battle vehicles.
I am in Illinois. I have a 75 Monte Carlo which I have modified, although not as much as you did to your Impalas. You can see it here:

Hey Batmax! As soon as I get some time, I'll take some pics of the Impalas as they stand now. Then progress shots as I 'restore' to the former glory.
Unless Mr. Detritus Maximus talks me out of it. He's of the opinion (and rightly so) that I have too many projects to adequately focus on and finish any one of them. So I'm angling for more $$$ in the income area, or a subsidy in the form of art grants or free storage/work space for the cars.
So what year Caprice do you have? And what happened to Rio? Daydreaming about Jim Goose and forgot to reattach the throttle return spring?
As far as Burning Man, yeah, there is quite a bohemian hippie influence, but the Thunderdome people were another breed. Goth/RW influence. Not shiny happy people. If I can, I'll scan some photos I took of cars there. Carthedral was incredible. Especially at dusk, all lit up, slowly cruising around the dusty 'streets'.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME with that
www.showcars-bodyparts.com. I asked this guy in person about 2 years ago about some rear flares (showing him pictures) and he looked at me like I was from another planet.
All I was after was something close so I could modify it.... he told me he didn't have time for this and walkd away!!
The parts he mostly sells are USED fiberglass from old race cars and are in need of serious attention.... he rarely sells any of the parts he brings to swap meets... I've been set up at swap meets near this guy many times so I know what I'm talking about.
Doug
PS: please note guys that it take alot for me to trash some one.... you'd really have to piss me off or rip me off before I would say anything... for the most part I hate seeing anyone get burnt.
