Villan? Never!

As a counterpart to Maxs' character - Maybe. Not unike their roles in "Air America." I guess I'd go for that.

He was brilliant as Chaplin. No argument. But he wouldn't be intimidating enough as a "MM" villan. I haven't seen him portray a nasty enough of a villan. Not even in "U.S. Marshals".

The movie - "Less Than Zero". Rent it. Another great performance - Just a sad story. Rather prophetic.

Like I said, Gary Oldman. He fits the apocolyptic stage...

Sincerely, I dream Marilyn Manson as villain - is it just me?Image

Anyway, the reports didn't tell about Downey doing the villain. So I suppose the guy is going to play Max's kick-ass counterpart as you said, or an ally in pure Pappagallo-style. I would like it anyway.

Yeah! Happy to see Emil Minty again (hope it's right, he's not an actor anymore) and Entity (Tina, still so sexy). But what's about our junkie Robert Downey Jr? Is he fit enough to be with Mel?
I could probably make it on my own, but I like you kids.

Aiiiiiiiii!!!! Robert Downey Jr.???? Please say it isn't so. Thunderdome was Hollywoodized enough; please keep it in the outback this time! Don't get me wrong, I'm as red, white, and blue as anyone, but MM 1 & 2 were utterly Australian and that is an absolutely integral part of those films. I mean, did Auntie lose her Aussie accent as a result of prolonged radiation exposure or what?? (That bugged the crap out of me in Thunderdome, but i digress...)

So back to Mr. Dopey, er.. Downey. Whether he is a good actor or not (arguable) does not mean that he needs to be in MM4. So Nathan Lane is a fine actor too. But does he belong in the post-apocalyptic wasteland?? Nuh-uh. He just doesn't fit, eh? RD Jr. does great as a spoiled rich suburbanite, but not a crazed Gayboy Berserker, or anything like it. And certainly not as a Max sidekick. Max doesn't have sidekicks!

Please Mr. Miller - keep it all in the Lucky Country! And no "inspirational" hit songs either!

Ok - that was a bit of a rant. I'll step off of my soapbox now...Image

I believe some of the rawness of the films can be attributed to the relative unknowns acting in the first two films. In the age of the celeberity, unknowns add an unfamiliar touch rather than 'that guy from the lawyer show with the neurotic woman' Still the hollywood money will want several famous faces in the casting remember (Lethal weapon 4?). Downey jr? dosent work for me.

personally, It would be the nicest touch to have a cameo of several fans in bit parts. :) Mr Miller?
