Most brilliance come out of an insaciable desire to create. A desire to beat the odds. In 1978 Miller and Kennedy were relatively unknown, and the only way to acheive recongnition was to create a picture never befor seen. So much effort must be put in to ensure success. Outstanding fast paced action and brilliant colorful charecters pushed Mad Max into movie history. And although Mad Max recieved great success in Australia it went below radar in the US. George Miller and Byron Kennedy once again had to use every bit of there creativity to have worldwide success with the seaquel. All of this was acomplished, finaly comercial success and all of its perks were delivered. Unfortunatley with the death of Byron Kennedy and the lack of do or die thinking: Beyond Thunderdome, although moderetly succesful through it's high budget production and mad birage of advertising, was a critical failure. The dark non stop action, and the gritty no win world were totaly lacking. I think without Byron Kennedy, and the gaurunteed comercial success of any Gibson pioleted vehical, as well as the big budget production will equal a lack of creativity in Fury Road. If your idea of fun is movies like pearl harbor, and water world, than Fury Road will be for you. This movie will be met with tremendous comercial success, but fans of real movies will be sadened.

Oh please please please...

DON'T let it be like "The (not so) Fast and the (all but) Furious"

The best part of that movie was when the '70 Charger does a wheelie stand from the light, the worst part was about four minutes later when it rolls...it was way too close to Max rolling the beloved Black for my taste. SOB! Isn't the 285 cars "Dukes" totalled enough?

Or like Costner's "Mad Mariner Beyond The Beaches." Can we say RIP OFF! Almost identical situations and film shots of MM2/Road Warrior.

May Byron Kennedy persuade the powers that be up there, to make a movie that is worthy of our celluloid hero. (Say Amen my fellow brothers and sisters)

Yeah, a friend of mine who's into "ricers" insists that the Supra took the Dodge, I laughed. Aside from the inprobability of that ever happening, I point out that yes, it appears close. However, the Supra used TWO shots of NOS, and the Dodge threw a rod through the block.....and it was close. That shuts him up. :)

Gotta agree though, why oh why do they keep killing classics? When a person dies onscreen, it's an illusion. When a beautiful old car dies, the junkyard gets another tennant. How very sad.

Since no one has really come up with the "blower on demand" in the real world, I thought about building a 427 SCJ to the hilt with a Weiand 6:70 to 1 blower, then put a 2-4 second shot of silly stuff (NOS) triggered by the big red button on the shifter. Then watch the little "Tuna" cars try and compete. Only prob though, the drivetrain only costs about $20,000 US, if your thrifty.

Gotta find me one of them money trees. The local garden shop is backordered.

Use a 351& save a bunch of $. So, you'll only make 800-900 hp instead of 1100, who's really counting?

You guys don't really get it... High horsepower/go fast stuff is fine up to a point. Me, I just run over them or knock 'em off the road. '77 Impala 4dr vs. Civic? Who's worried about hitting who? It's all about vehicular combat, not a race! The Mach 1 just scares 'em. It's the flat black paint, or the unrepaired hood damage or something.

Seriously, I'd love to see a working on/off blower set up. Brian S. is working on something, and if he pulls it off, much happiness! Unfortunately, it's like the man said, "Speed is just a matter of money. How fast do you wanna go?"

I'll be happy with 350-400hp without a lot of expense/maintenance issues. I'm shooting for 450-500hp with reasonable expenses. I don't need a $15,000 engine... LOL!

I've seen enough Demolition derbys in my time to know that NOTHING takes abuse like a 74-78 Caprice / Impala. Truly amazing to see, they just keep on going. If it came down to true vehicular combat, that would be my ride of choice, hands down. You wouldn't even feel the Honda, Mitch :)

Know what's even better? Highly sought after as a demolition derby car? A 1963 Chrysler Imperial! I try not to hit things with mine, though. Holy crow, this thing is huge! I'm thinking of getting ST-DEST license plates and Star Wars Imperial logos for it. It's white, too, so it's got that Star Destroyer look. I figured you might appreciate that, Interdictor.
