Yeah for sure. Looks to be 2hr20-30mins given the time the movie started and some tweets cropped up.

One person on Twitter said that after watching FURY ROAD they came home and immediately began watching the original. So...score?

Hmmm. What happened to the 160 minute cut Hardy spoke of? I hope Miller wasn't forced to compromise his vision. That would SUCK!

Per publicly posted on Twitter the movie looks to have been trimmed to 2 hours and 20 minutes but the attendee liked it!

Yeah, but....I'm getting visions of Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven. A very good film that was emasculated by the trimming of 40 minutes. The theatrical version was good, but the director's cut was one of his very best.

True, but sometimes the extra fat on a big action piece can be a hindrance to the flow of the movie than help it.

Understood. But I have total faith in Miller bringing nothing but the goods at 160 minutes, if that's what he really wants.

I almost wish Hardy had never mentioned the 160 minutes.

A young lass on Twitter is telling me she loved the film. Hardy, Theron and Hoult were all fantastic.

Hmmm. If this is the version that was screened in Australia last year, then it DOES NOT include the additionally filmed segments, because that screening took place BEFORE the Sydney shoot. So, with regards to the Esquire quote, it may be that the man Hardy was talking to only saw the shorter version and thought it was great as is. Hardy disagreed, saying the 160 min version with the additional scenes was the one. And this new screening may not contain those new scenes because they might require a lot of VFX work. So 160 minutes might still be in play.

Just a thought.

Even if the VFX wasn't complete they'd still edit them in for the assembly cut. The studio man's first comment is about the thing being 6 hours long to which Hardy replies the 160 mark is the sweet spot while the studio wants it at 140. So far the studio has had it's way.

Anything can happen in a year though!
