My concern with the green screen would be that the rig is static but it depends what they're using it for. It could just be to paint in a background for a particular shot.
My thought is fighting or action shots you just don't want to do on a moving rig. Or, as you say, for painting in a background, but....what sort of background? There is not a lot to be seen in the shooting location, just rocks and flat desert. I can see doing scenes with the actors and needing to match the atmosphere and lighting of the moving scenes. Or maybe there is a need for backgrounds that aren't available or are cost prohibitive to build. Urban wreckage? That big submarine from the game?

I think urban decay is most likely. It makes sense to me that Miller would show what he could not before and have a damaged city or, as you say, some imagery like the submarine. I do feel the game has been informed by Miller's design on this film so taking clues from that footage might not be a bad idea.

This picture REALLY pissed me off. For one thing I loved the original movies that everything was done in real time. Like "THAT" motorbike crash from the second movie. Thats why those movies were amazing. Everything looked real because in fact it was shoot in real time. But not anymore ofc. Everything had to be thrown in the toilet. If there is big chase scene with that rig in FR it will be 90% CGI for sure :/ Lazy bastards.

i wouldn't be so sure of that mate. ha ha

Is this a new photo of the FR Interceptor? I don't think I've seen this yet.

I think it's fan art, or concept car... It's very old stuff.
