Re: Shipping to UK??
The major issue is being an XA it needs front guards and bonnet as they different to the XB.
The only other minor differences is the rear tail lights which have angled lens, instead of the flat lens of the XB and the door handles on the XA are different to the XB (they arent interchangable as the door skin is stamped differently).
Interior wise, the dash on the XA is smooth, whereas the XB is rippled (not that it matters inside i guess).

Wow a 'coupe' so close to my place. Unfortunatly money isn't the problem, having storage place to put in is tho.

Good luck with the auction . Cant believe this has been only 10 miles away from where I live !!!
If I had the money, space and time I would be placing a bid

Were you the winner? Though I hate to see the XA's converted, with this car and the full bodykit from http://www.madmaxcars.com you would have nearly the same combination our mate Adrian built in the UK, and eventually shipped back to OZ where it now resides in his Mad Max Museum (converted to MM2 configuration). It could look just like this:

Anyway, it went for a steal, not too much more than the cost of freight, hope you got it.

Re: Shipping to UK??
getting the coupe shell is the hardest bit, as there are xb utes, wagons and vans pop up on ebay over here from time to time.
so you get one of those and change over the front panels and sell on the donor vehicle.

I actually went to visit that XA Falcon and bid on it! It was the first time I'd seen a Falcon in person, it's made me want one even more than ever.
Beautiful car.
I dropped out of bidding at £6000 thinking it would go well into the 10s and it didn't, it went for less than I would have paid! I've been regretting it every single day since.

That is a bummer! I guess it goes into the 'ya never know' file. Probably goes to show that one should bid to what you are willing to pay and let fate decide.

Re: Shipping to UK??
Sorry...well you know what I mean,, I have just joined up on here and doing a bit of research for my bro inlaw, he was the winning bidder for that Falcon in the Ebay link. he has it running ow, MOT'd and just needs to get a age related plate on it to get it on the road..( which will reqiure more posts on here)
He for one will tell you how long he has been looking for one,,many many years, and always said, "Theres one in a garage with my name on it" and I gues this was the one.
He looked into shipping one over a few years ago, and costs started to rise and rise,
good luck in your hunt..

Re: Shipping to UK??
I might be able to help you in two ways mate. Firstly I've shipped cars inc falcons to the UK before, so would be able to arrange it for you. I can also help source and buy a car if you need someone over here.
Or if your after just a shell, I have a mate with one sitting in a storage shed over there. He took it over with him about 5-6 years ago with the plan to build either an interceptor or a circuit racer but has since moved back to Australia and left the car in storage. I'm fairly sure he would consider selling it.

My Bro inlaw has asked me to post some questions on here, as he is better with spanners that a keyboard. Main problem he has with the car is registering it with an age related number plate. He has it MOT'd and went along to the DVLA with his paperwork, all original import papers and so on, but in order for him to get an age related plate, he needs some sort of Ford Falcon Owners Club letter headed saying that his car is indeed from that era, silly realy as its got all that onthe VIN plate, but I guess if that is what the DVLA needs,,that is what he has now got to get.
If anyone can point him in the best direction.
It's a beast,,,I'm impresed and want it,,,he has gone the full hog with paintwork, matt black painted on with a roller
