Shipping to UK??

Post by fhmreader »

Hi there

Has anyone had experience shipping a falcon from Aus to the Uk????

There seems to be plenty of info for shipping from the UK, but coming the other way seems a bit more vague!!

The cars I've seen online all seem to be non runners/projects so would need to be transported in a container.

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers Guys

Mark

Shipping to the UK is not really a hassle.
I know www.madmaxcars.com has shipped there from time to time, so they may be able to help. I know they shipped a Falcon (now an awesome replica and quite famous in its own right) to the UK many year ago. It now in the Mad Max 2 Museum in Broken Hill. You can read a little about it here:

!
Mark it wont matter if its a runner or non-runner, it will go in a container.

There are plenty of running cars on eBay, some of which will still need work when you get it.
Personally sending a coupe in bits will be a lot harder to send not to mention once its unloaded at the port it will be too much of a burden to push around and probably end up having a forklift lift the car up to be moved (causing damage).

Thanks guys

I've e-mailed MadMaxcars regarding shipping a falcon, just waiting on a reply.

Also asked about a turnkey Interceptor, I'd like to know what you actually get for the base $35000?? How far along the conversion is it?

Been looking at some half decent (running and pretty much all there) coupes on ebay aus lately, but a lot of people dont answer e-mails as soon as you mention UK and shipping companies etc lol!

Ahh.. more then likely they dont want to answer because its up to you to figure out how to ship it or they assume your a scammer.
Quite a large percentage of eBay sellers here in Australia are being approached by scammers who all say they are overseas etc.

If you have a low eBay score they wont respond because of this.

The only question you need to ask them is will they accept overseas bids.... if you start asking about shipping etc... you have no chance.

Just wondering if the MMC guys got back to you, and what you found out. They are usually pretty quick.

Just checked with the guys. It appears that they have replied to 2 diffrent inquiries from the info request that sound like what you are asking about.
Check you spam filter on your email maybe, or if needed PM me and I can verify your contact info and get the replies reforwarded to you.

I'm watching it already mate!!!

That would be perfect as its in the UK and I run my own blasting/powder coating company anyway so could get straight on with it!

Got a few cars to sell to make room though, but i'm sure I could squeeze it in!!
