Continuity error in MM1?

Post by Uncle Entity »

Someone posted this on IMDB:

Maybe if you watched more carefully, you'd notice there were seven bikers approaching Jessie just before they killed her. Besides, Johnny was clearly one of the bikers seen riding after the gang broke down that door. That is, before the gang was on the road. Since Johnny was missing right after they killed Max's family, there must have been some continuity error. There is no way a bike can stop or change course in just a few seconds. In any case, Johnny was a stone cold psychopath and even admitted it to Max.

True, but did this specific error happen?

Someone would need to check :) I don't have Mad Max handy, but can try to take a look if no one else can review it first. The two scenes were shot in entirely different locations on different days, so it is not impossible there is an error. Also note that a lot of these scenes where you don't see the actors faces in the bike helmets, they were doubles, so the actors weren't on set the whole time, to cut down the budget.

If you freeze frame the "over the shoulder" shot of Max hand-braking after he crosses the bridge in MM1, you'll notice his uniform is a lot dirtier, like that one shot was done by a stand-in wearing a
different costume, like the Goose's maybe? A small observation.

Other question: Johnny wasn't there as the Glory Riders killed Jessie. But where was he? Helping Cundalini to escape from the MFP and then flee from Mays'? Questions... :?
I could probably make it on my own, but I like you kids.

That's not the point of the movie. If he was, Max could easily kill him, no trouble.
