Avalanche developing Mad Max game for 2014
Re: Barlog no longer directing the Mad Max game
its cool a game is being made, i hope its good because games that are made after movies usually arent that great.
and also a long time ago almost ten years ago i was looking at a game magazine and there was a article on a road warrior style game that was going to come out for 360 or ps3, this was before those consoles were even out. guess they never made it?

Seems MadMax game might be next gen after all:
"Sundberg also mentions two unannounced projects presently in development at Avalanche. One of which is Avalanche's "first license game" (probably the much-rumored Mad Max title) for an apparently to be determined publisher "based on a well-known movie license," slated for an April 2014 release on "current and next-generation console platforms and PC." However, it is worth noting that Sundberg recently suggested in a tweet that Avalanche was moving exclusively to next-generation development as of late November, which could indicate that current-gen SKUs for Mad Max have been dropped."

unlike most I have high hopes for this game. I know it is likely a fools hope. I keep repeating the things this game would have going for itself were it to stick to it's strenghts. but at any rate I hope the game isn't dropped and I hope it is everything and more as far as the potential. I also hope they recognize us old school fans and create DLC that would appeal to us...such as cars, trucks and planes of the original trilogy.

i've even read that the game is already exceeding the movie budget....don't know if it's true.

I wouldn't doubt it. between the motion capture and the "insider info" that they digitally scanned all the cars. I'd say a pretty penny has been spent for this title so far. would be a shame to let all that production cost go to waste. just saying.FordMercury wrote:i've even read that the game is already exceeding the movie budget....don't know if it's true.

It's official. Avalanche is developing the Mad Max game for 2014 release.
Aha, here's the PS4 Mad Max game trailer that was revealed at E3. Oh boy.

http://kotaku.com/the-just-cause-guys-a ... -512477541Avalanche Studios, the developers of the Just Cause series, are making a Mad Max game. We don't know much about it, since only a short clip and logo was shown, but if you remember a few months back some blurry teaser images were shown which suggest the game is basically a post-apocalyptic Just Cause. With Australians.
Fine by me.
It's due on PS4 and Xbox One.

Re: Avalanche developing Mad Max game for 2014
it's coming to pc as well as ps3 and 360. I know a forum that loves to crack 3d model format. I can see us getting a hold of the models and using them in other games to be enjoyed by the masses of modders. also having a mad max player model would help out a lot of mad max modders struggling to make mel.
this excites me a lot. I'll probably by the ps3 edition since that's likely to be the most beautiful. I will also try to pick up the pc edition as well since I'd want to see about using it for refs for model work as talked about above. this really seems like an interesting game from what teasers we just got.
