LOL. Like old high school gym lockers. They do.
Yeah, you can tell they are sheets in the film too, but this pic really highlights the fact.

Re: cobra truck tribute
Yes, we all know and understand that the louvers are punched in a sheet of steel, probably glued to the hood (no weld job could be that crummy that it would peel up like that), but the movie truck was made to last a couple of months of shooting and them off to a scrap yard. I intend to take this truck out to shows and to drive it quite often. At a car show consisting of 90% people who are not as informed as this group, something like louvers punched in a sheet and welded to the hood backwards will stick out, and to have to explain to all the reasoning is a pain in the ass. I'm at car shows every other weekend with my hotrod, I'm well aware of the local crowd in this area, and don't think it would be much different anywhere else. I have decided to punch the louvers in my hood the proper way so they function and I don't have to explain to the uneducated masses. I already counted , 4 rows of 33.

Movie shot for comparison. They look flush to the top of the hood here, not just glued or tacked on, but it's hard to tell for sure.
Do they ticket for no windshield wipers in NM? Better keep a rag handy, you can just about reach over and do it!

They look like the sheets you bought to go on the side of a caravan so the fridge could get a better air flow.

Re: cobra truck tribute
OK, time for an update. It's been a crazy summer and no new actual work has been done since the last pics. My son has been busy with other projects (girlfriends) and work, my knee surgery slowed me down for a bit. I have had to start a new truck project, and not had any time to work on this truck. For awhile I had concidered selling or getting rid on it, but a good group of close friends have convinced me to finish it. It has a 240 straight six, which is going to be removed and put in the other truck project. A sutible 289 V8 replacement has been located for a good price and will be installed in the next couple of months. Truck would have been OK with a six, but lets face it, nothing sounds as good as V8 power. I have the needed wheels, they are the stock Ford wagon wheels, but will look OK from 20 feet or so. No money for tires yet. I have the louver sheets and was given a new dash cluster. I still don't know what to do for the lights on the front of the hood, and the windscreen is still in the design stage.
