MFP cars siren sound...
Guys, Does anybody know where I can get the siren australian sound from the V8 interceptor on my car?
I want to install a siren that sounds the same like the movie. I have see the actual sirens that light up on sale,
but that is just the siren, what about the actual siren system sound?
any help I will appreciate it.

Email [email protected] and ask Andy for a 100W single speaker unit.

Re: MFP cars siren sound...
i am not sure if they were exactly the same but back then the vic police and ambulance had a Heathkit brand siren which used the yelp and wail at the same time.
We have the same on the ambos here in QLD now, although not Heathkit brand and not in the same ?pitch ?frequency
If you are any good with a soldering iron.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/HEATHKIT-ASSEMB ... 2c5ec17c81
There doesnt seem to be much info in Google about them. They are pretty old units now. You may just have to get a unit that produces the two tones simulatiously and be satisfied with that.

the siren sound here on Qld Ambos is completely different to that of Victoria Police, and the Victoria Police still use the same distinct siren on their cars..
Dont get caught with a siren on your private car...very illegal, without the correct permits

Strange area to ask questions about the siren noise... (replica car section for these sorts of questions).
The brand you need to buy is an two tone LTS.
This company has been making this siren for Victoria Police for 30yrs.
It is the same sound bite used for every single Aussie cop show over the years, including madmax.
And yes... some QLD Ambulances are fitted with this siren.
Have heard it blarring away in Townsville on a number of times.

All the sprinters have the two tones at once, on off switch on panel and cycle through the tones (wail, yelp, both) using the horn.roadwarriormfp wrote:And yes... some QLD Ambulances are fitted with this siren.

I just had a look and I cant locate the siren amplifier to get the brand, speakers are britax brand.

It's pretty annoying driving with both tones going at once so most cycle through the wail and yelp rather than run with both.
If the traffic (tourists) are thick, I use both at once and hit them with the horn as well
. Amazing how many people dont look in their rear view mirror....

Its only just recently (about 12months or so) that I have heard the same yelp/wail siren tone as the movie.MFP-508 wrote:i dont live in townsville and have never heard them up here in Brisbane or surround in the 20 odd years ive been here
First time i heard it i thought... hmm thats familier.
Some Ambulances (?) not sure as i can only hear the siren, have a european type siren which is kinda annoying!

Hi Guys, Yeah! I know this is an old post.
Have LTS Siren unit on eBay currently....
Have a few dead ones I have to repair... The units & parts for them are getting very hard to come by as almost all the services have gone to full electronic units.
I have seen piles of them smashed to bits, rather than being sold into the replica market. Such a shame....
But it's on ebay for anyone interested!
Cheers John.
