Hello and greetings from South Carolina, USA

Post by Heavy Chevy »

Hello to everyone on the forum.
I have been lurking and reading for a few months to get the feel of the board.

I first saw the RW(as it was originally called here) when i was in High School back in the day, when it first came out.
It was also the first VHS video i ever bought.
It cost me $80.00 bucks back in 1983 !!! Wow have times changed.

I feel the movie has withstood its' critics and the test of time.
The HD versions still look great and clear.
The TV versions become grainy though.

It comes on Direct TV (satellite) here once or twice a month on Reelz channel or AMC.

I will not ask a bunch of newbie questions but would like to make an observation or two.

When Max and Papagallo are arguing, seems like Papa's head turns before Max's fist connects.

I would think that the marauders would have tried shooting out the FRONT tires on the rig.

Remember the guy who was relaying the message between Papa and the mechanic. He was near Papa when they broke from the compound but never saw him again.

Anyway i am glad to be a member of this forum and look forward to conversing with others here.

Mike

That's funny, RW is the first VHS tape I actually bought, after I got a VCR. I remember it was a Fisher, and I paid $300 for it, and at the time it was a deal :o . I have all the MM films on DVD, but I still keep the VHS tapes. Don't know why, because I don't have a VCR, and am probably never going to get one.

I have about five versions on VHS including a yankee dubbed version i swapped from a board member on here back in the 90's!

I hunt a lot of old VHS these days, and i tell you one thing - i never see mad max in the tapes people throw out. Never.
