Anybody here interested in trading Mad Max related goods?
Not for sale per say, but to swap for similar items I have:

- Analog cassette tape soundtrack for Road Warrior (some hiss).
- Vinyl record album soundtrack for Thunderdome with Gibson/Turner poster.
- American print Road Warrior movie poster (folded).
- I can make VHS copies of the no dub, Australian release of Mad Max,
and new widescreen reissue of Road Warrior.
- VHS of Mad Max with early 80's illustration for cover
(watched trillions of times - nice to have just for the box)
- Road Warrior T-Shirt with Max/Wez/Hummungus image printed by

I would like to get an NTSC SP taped copy of Mad Max with the Aussie dialogue, trailers and Mad Max 2: The Chase Continues featurette from the Japanese DVD. I don't have an all region DVD unit yet, but would still like to see the Aussie version on tape until I get a region free player. Regs, Steve.

*Is NTSC SP the U.S. compatable version? I'm sure I could work something out. Ideally I'm looking for Mad Max related trades for what little I might have. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind some pocket change for my time to boot a copy.

NTSC IS the video standard in the U.S & Japan as well as some other areas. Europe and Australia are on PAL (Phase Alternate Line) and are incompatible, requiring conversion. The Japanese are well aware that there is a market for their discs in the U.S., so they add English audiotracks to their DVD's and in the case of the Mad Max Japanese DVD have the Aussie dialogue track as well. I'd like a widescreen NTSC copy of this in SP mode (for best resolution) with the Aussie audiotracks as I already have the laserdiscs with the American dub. Image laserdisc made the domestic widescreen pressings on laserdisc and they bought out Ken Cranes laserdisc. They basically only want to offer the Image versions of Mad Max and do not sell import dvd's or X rated titles anymore. So much for having a choice. Steve at Laserexchange says the Mad Max Japanese DVD has been quite a popular seller. They're out of stock right now - perhaps between pressings. While I wait, an SP copy would be nice to watch.
