BBB, I give you credit for saying what I'm thinking. Max died when Byron died and MM3 was an unforgettable disaster.Big Bopper Bart wrote:Sorry fellers, this movie is gonna be nothing but!
However, I will give Miller credit if he actually gets Fury Road completed. Sure, it will be a smash em up PG-13 movie for all the kiddies but at least we all can go on with the rest of our lives knowing that once upon a time there were great films and filmmakers. I know, so 80's right?
You will ride eternal, shiny and chrome!

What do you want, a Road Warrior clone? No thanks.

- They're not using CGI, they're doing explosions and crashes the old fashioned way.
- They're not using modern vehicles.
- Tom Hardy is a really brilliant actor, quite seriously one of the best actors in the industry at the moment.
- Namibia's desert is the perfect filming location.
- Jason Statham is nowhere to be seen.
- All indications are they're going back to the roots of Mad Max and completely rejecting MM3 as part of the canon.
At this point it's full of potential. I'm optimistic for it, and sure it might end up being a huge disappointment. But they've not even started filming yet... It's way too early to dismiss it based on some tid-bits of information from interviews.

i'll tell you what i think when i see it, butL88 wrote: - They're not using modern vehicles.
if resources are low, there's presumably no mains electricity (eg running a welder), why the hell would you build something like those huge wheeled caddillacs? it'd take a huge effort and amount of resources and time. they need to go offroad? i dunno maybe just use a 4x4?

The same could be said for some of the vehicles in "Mad Max 2." Why build custom muscle cars with blowers, zoomies, spoilers, duel tires, and cool paint jobs? Where did they get the resources for those cars?
I'm just as worried as the next guy, but I'm also optimistic. While the vehicles don't look like the "Mad Max" vehicles we know, I still think they're cool. I might be taking what I can get in regards to the film's vehicles, but nonetheless, I still think they are cool. In regards to the caddy, why not? It's big, powerful, and somewhat roomy inside. Not to mention that it looks like it could run over smaller attacking vehicles. I think's pretty suited for the apocalypes.

You know those appalling Interceptor concepts that Ford encouraged last year...
They're not looking so bad alongside garbage like the Gigahorse.
How could they screw the pooch this bad... when it could be oh so simple to get it right.
I can't believe how far off the radar this project is falling for me.
At least they're going the 2D route.

It would be better than this garbage they're trying to pass off as MAD MAX. They should've ended the story with Road Warrior and let it die an honorable death. Instead they let the shitheads in Hollywood get a hold of it and we wound up with Beyond Thunderturd. Now it looks as if they want to try and feed us Thunderturd 2.0. I say no thanks to that.biolumen wrote:What do you want, a Road Warrior clone? No thanks.
