1974 Ford Falcon XB Ute

This is the pickup version of Mad Max's Interceptor coupe. Similar in size and concept to a US-market Ranchero, but much more stylish and quite aggressive looking. This car draws a huge amount of attention - very few people in the US have ever laid eyes on one of these, but everyone loves the look-

It is equipped with a strong 302 V8, 4 speed manual transmission, and right hand drive. It also has the GS roadwheels, "NASA" bonnet w/bonnet locks, rally grill with Hella foglights, bucket seats, console with floor shifter, special stripe package, etc. Power steering, power disc brakes and air conditioning. The A/C is not working but every component is there. Painted in the very cool '70's Tropicana Green metallic. Nice high quality tonneau cover for the bed, and the cool "Col Paige Ford SuperDog" decal in the back window.

The engine is a 302 cu. in. Cleveland which is similar to a 351 but destroked by Ford. Most parts are interchangeable with the 351. The engine has a performance cam with a slight but noticeable lope, and the exhaust note is spectacular!

This is an unrestored car that would either make a very fun daily driver, or a great basis for taking it to the next level. Has some cosmetic paint and upholstery issues. Restoration parts are easy to get for these online from various sources. A workshop manual and some spare parts are included.

It would certainly cost a LOT more than this to locate & purchase one of these in Australia and import it yourself. This one is already here in the US, and is legally titled so you can see it and drive it (without all the expense and trauma of buying something half way around the world sight unseen).

Priced at $16,900 - I might consider an interesting trade (other classic car or motorcycle). Personal plates are not included.

(Please respond with a valid phone number, so I can attempt to weed out the scam artists. Serious buyers only - Thank you!). Please do not flag this ad-
Click the link to see pics. I haven't embedded 'em here 'cause they would disappear as soon as the ad does.

How is it possible nobody's shown any interest in this! If I had the money, I would be sorely tempted.

I think you answered your own question there...

These are tough economic times we're in right now. Of course being on the other coast doesn't make it any easier.
But you are right, that is one seriously nice car and I would love to be it's guardian.

Looks nice, and back across the pond would be quite worth what he is asking, probably more. Problem is, here in the USA folks just dont appreciate the Utes, so it is WAY overpriced for the market. Most anyone sinking 16K + on this side of the pond wants a coupe, he is looking for the few guys who are not. The last Ute in the USA I saw go in similar condition went for $3500. Everything is worth only what someone will pay........ Go figure, I would buy it.... if as stated above, I had the cash available.

I'm imagining that thing in MFP livery. Like, as a hypothetical portrayal of some type of support vehicle the MFP might have used for various purposes.
