Re: MadMax on GO
Ok cool I must have missed Mad Max 1 being advertised, as for which channel, most movies/shows will be on a certain channel, like Neighbours you know is on channel 10, Home and away is on 7, so Mad Max would have been on a particular channel, before Digital TV it looks like it would have been a channel 10 type of movie, I've just never seen it advertised before, as for Back to the Future I can only remember number 2 being a favourite once a year type thing, number 3 very rarely and number 1 almost never, it seemed like they thought everyone liked number 2 the most and stuck with that.

If ya watchin Neighbours or Home and away, ya probably don't watch Max Max films....
Max is playes once every year or two. Not sure if there is a TV edit for the first. There is definately a TV edit od MM2.

You don't need to watch Neighbours or Home and away to know what channel they play on, when the ads come on you get to know which program plays on which channel, I was only using Neighbours and Home and away as an example doesn't mean I watch it, as far as I know all movies are played on the network who gets the rights to do so, you wouldn't see a certain movie played on all different channels unless that network acquired the rights.BlownV8 wrote:If ya watchin Neighbours or Home and away, ya probably don't watch Max Max films....

I think Mad Max 2 had the steel Boomerang in the head scene taken out, I don't think we get to see the Boomerang embedded in the Blond fellas head.roadwarriormfp wrote:There is no particular channel it appears on... its not a TV program.

I remember once during the 80s, one of the networks was advertising Mad Max 2 and claiming that it was going to be uncut. As it turned out, there were quite a few bits cut out from the film. I don't know why TV networks are dishonest like this. And the copy they showed was pretty poor quality with weird colours and contrast. It almost looked like the film had been exposed to radiation.

Regarding the original Mad Max, it's quite amusing listening to that domestic argument between the couple near the beginning of the film. Y'know the one that goes:
"What about Jonathon?"
"You were seen with him two nights ago."
By the way, I reckon that woman with the frizzy black hair looks a bit like Nicole Kidman.

The original edit of MM2 differed a few ways.roadwarriormfp wrote:Cant recall ever seening any edited versions of MM2 on aussie TV either.
The voice over at the start was different, pappagallo's speech shorter, no close up of Toadie loosing fingers, no close up of boomerang in head, No close up of body falling out of rig, different dialog when Max want's to drive the tanker, etc.
