Silverton is probably 20 or 30 minutes from Broken Hill. Basically it's on the way out to the Mundi Mundi road. I saw that some of you were planning on visiting the Mundi Mundi lookout on the Saturday morning, if you do then you can quite easily drop past the pub on your way to / from the lookout. It's on the left as you head through Silverton itself, it's pretty obvious to spot.

Gordon, you're on the board early this morning! I'm used to having it all to myself this time of day.

Note that the Mack truck actually crashed into the Humungous, not Papagallo - he was one of the good guys! (A skewered good guy at that point in the film, but a good guy none the less).

where do we find out about the "other event" who is organising it? Is it invitation only.

I agree that it would be good to have main course and dessert but where is the menu??

I'll probaly call in to the pub on the way home if i've got nothing better to do.They will most likely need the business.Heard that a case of beer in broken hill is the same price as a middy at the pub.

Hi..

I only heard about the "other event" after the owner of the Silverton pub (Chris) contacted me for information and parts to assist him with a black pursuit special Interceptor replica that he has under construction.

I do know that the "Mad Max revival" celebration at the PUB it is not an invitation only event.

So everyone is welcome.

I am not sure how the two events came to happen at the same time, but as their times don't seem to overlap, it sounds like the fellow out at the Silverton Pub, might have "got into the sprit" of the weekend and decided to offer something other than just the Mundi Mundi view for the visitors.

Chris's (the pubs) Interceptor is still under construction, but some distinctive features are already on the car.

I will contact Chris again and see if he will be available to lean on the bar and have a yarn with visitors about the Replica that he is building and the heritage of the PUB.

My favorite pic in the Silverton pub by the way is the one with Mel Gibson getting the cigarette (bad habit Mel) lit by a crew member. In that shot Australia's millionaire superstar Mel looks like any other raggedy leather clad and dust covered tourist.

A road wanderer taking a break from the road and sun, just passing through the outback and enjoying a quite moment.

Cheers

hey blower belt, take a chill pill have a lie down and hopefully you can relax.

Everthing costs more in the outback, ie petrol. Its a fact not a personal attack.

Whether or not someone had lunch with/or was in the film doesnt mean they are more or less a fan than someone who did. If it wasnt for the fans the movie would have been long forgotten by the general public. Fans admire and are envious of people like you who were part of the movie so relax and hopefully you and the locals at Broken Hill can enjoy the weekend and many positive stories can be told about the people and place.
