Finally scored a Bonds. Uniform complete?

Post by MFP 2020 »

I finally located a light blue Bonds raglan T-shirt from an eBay seller in Australia. She wasn't offering worldwide shipping but I sweet-talked her into it. It arrived today and I was surprised at how rewarding it was to hold in my hands. I haven't been searching for one for 30 years, but I've wanted one for 30 years. (The search only took a couple of years.)

So I have the South Beach pants, original Rossiter's boots, AbbyShot jacket, official Bonds T-shirt, Max Replica garrison belt, Magnolia leather shotgun holster, Mad Max gas sawed-off, and three-link handcuffs. I don't have all the accoutrements like Max Replica did (shoulder holster, baton), but I do have more screen-accurate belt loops than the standard SBL pants, so I might just have the most screen accurate MFP uniform EVER. (In the US. That I know of. That's not vinyl.) :)

So do I get a trophy or something?

Hm, I don't know... your kung-fu is pretty strong, but I don't know if I can give you the ever nod.
Best currently in the U.S.? Very possible (now that my costume has been shipped off to Asia). After all, I did score those real Rossi boots just before I sold the whole thing. So I guess we'd have to weigh your admittedly better quality jacket (once the cut and length was corrected of course) vs. my SB jacket with custom caps and world's only 100% accurate shoulder holster.
Not that any of this is a competition. : )

And again, my custom is long gone now.

Oh, and just to throw another curve ball into this, it looks like a certain Mr. Webber bought those ridiculously expensive, but 100% accurate, Japanese sunglasses for his costume:

And since neither of us have/had those, how does that factor in?
(Or at least I think he bought them. It's not 100% clear from his post if he did or was just planning to.)
It never ever ends.
And speaking of which, if you ever decide you want a shoulder holster, my leather guys might still have the pattern...

P.S. Speaking of never ending - with the addition of the "P-4073" number plate, I think I am FINALLY ready to declare my Road Warrior costume completely done.

P.P.S. CONGRATULATIONS on finally getting a blue bonds shirt. It's a great feeling isn't it?
I assume it fits? I was SO relieved that it fit properly.
I had to do the same thing with talking some rural Australian into shipping to the U.S.. I think they were shocked that an American would be interested and would be willing to pay that much to ship an old t-shirt (they had no idea about the Mad Max connection).

It was not the most expensive part of my costume, but it was one of the hardest things to part with when I sold it.

Do we have the same glasses? I bought the ones off eBay with the center oval that someone posted here a while back. I think those are about $125 close enough. :)

Thanks. Yeah, it felt nice to just hold the package in my hands and look at it. In fact, I haven't even taken it out of the plastic; I can't yet bring myself to defile it (although I did feel the fabric with one finger). It's XL so I'm hoping for the best. If it's too small, well, it's diet time again already... (I dropped almost 15 pounds for WW2010, got sick around Christmas, and packed them back on.) :(

That's so cool. I had two shirts at one time - got them from a discount underwear shop in Melbourne in 2000. Gave one to a good friend of mine for his outfit, and kept one for myself. Then I let someone borrow it for a Mad Max fan film, and now it has Abbyshot leather dye stains all over it. :(
Glad to hear someone has the most accurate MFP belt loops. :D

Width-wise. Positionally, they're way off.
