I think that the wheels of the MM1 cars are still available; a company named American Racing used to make this wheels. I remember to have seen in their catalog the interceptors style wheel in two different colors: the Wagon wheel painted in white and the Pioneer wheel chromed. And Yes, the rear rims of the interceptor in MM2 are different, but I have no idea of the original manufacturer of that kind of rims.

In regard to the steering wheel, I've found one that is similar(not exact of course) to the original Max Rob. It's the "Falcon 34"model made by Luisi. You can find it at their web site http://www.volantiluisi.it/

I don't think any of the MM1 wheels were kept in RW. I don't know what kind they used.

Check with Grant or Gordon in the builders area for their custom replica wheels.

I got some measurements from the Ebay seller and the Last V8 owner. I looked for a used steering wheel that came close to what I needed and modified it to fit those measurements.

Some guys are using a SAAS wheel for the closest match.

G & G had some Scott and Weiand parts reproduced for their cars. I think Holley bought out Wieand years ago.

Good luck with your search.

I couldn't find the Falcon 34 wheels on the site mentioned.

Thanks Everyone! I sure hope this idea works out well. I only hope to have original parts for myself, and everyone else, at a reasonable cost. I not only dont want to profit from this, I really would just like to duck out after the Companys start manufacturing again (unless one of them wants me as a US sales rep or somthing, ha ha).

And yes Holley DID buy out weiand, and they are on my list, and I am actuallty in the beginings of discussions with them about producing a "Vintage" reissue blower, and possibly a "dummy" setup as well (at least the proper parts to make one).

If you want to broaden your search, I would suggest sending an email to Grant Hodgson. He is in the process of building several Pursuit Specials and Interceptors in Australia and has looked into many different ways to obtain original parts. I'm sure he would be interested in more affordable parts. Some of the replicated parts have been costly. He has probably tried some of your ideas already.

PS, the steering wheel image above is a lot different from the Max Rob design.

Some pictures and dimensions of the original MAXROB steering wheels can be found in the "Building a Replica" section if anyone is looking for more info on those. I realise the originals are no longer available, but at least this info might help you find a better match.

I've been seeing again MM1 and MM2 on DVD using the pause button when the interior of the car appears and I think that the one used in the films is the "Flat Style". What do you think guys?
