You exceeded the maximum allowed number of login attempts.

Post by HUMVEE Driver »

I tried logging on just now and got this error message:

You exceeded the maximum allowed number of login attempts. In addition to your username and password you now also have to solve the CAPTCHA below.

After a few attempts I was able to log in. (Thos CAPTCHAs were a bitch) Does this mean someone was trying to hack into my account or what?

I get that all the time when I'm at work, but never at home, so I am guessing it has something to do with the firewalls and not necessarily the site.

That's just my guess.

Anybody else?

A few days ago I had this problem to when I tried to log in from my mothers place.
Had to do 4-5 attempts.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

As best as I can tell, someone is trying to guess passwords of accounts. It is most likely just some automated software that is running, similar to the other SPAM junk seen from time to time, and there's unfortunately no way to stop it.

If your account has been attempted, just make sure you have a secure password (i.e. not something basic like 'password'), and that's about all that can be done. I can't actually see the failed attempts in any logs I've looked at, but I've searched around, and it appears this is what is happening - it has been happening to many boards other than this one.

The chain in those handcuffs is high-tensile steel, it'll take you ten minutes to hack through it with this, now if your lucky ? you can hack through your ankle in five minutes. Go !
