Mad Max Shoulderpad - the advanced tutorial

Post by Max Replica »

The new and improved guide to making your own Mad Max shoulderpad is now online. It's very long and detailed with lots of photos so I'm not going to post it here, I'll just give you the link:

We don't have any plans to do a run at this point, but if something changes we'll be sure to announce it here.
Thanks for the compliments on the pad.
Even if we don't do a run, hopefully the new advanced guide will help people make some improvements to their own.

If not a run on pads how about a template? I don't know about anybody else but I can't read a ruler or tape measure for squat! lol

These images are scaned from 3 pieces of standard 11 X 8.5 in. printer paper. It should print out correctly, you probably want to print it "boarderless". Then you can also double check the measurements from Max Replica's images. This template will give you the correct shape though. Hope it helps :D

TK4013, thanks for uploading that template! I will add that to my tutorial (probably should have done that in the first place).
And so everyone knows, that template was traced from one of our foam pads so I can confirm it is accurate (but yes, double check it against the measurements just in case, to account for any discrepancies your printer may introduce).
And remember that you will want a second template, with borders about an inch wider all around for cutting out the two pieces of fabric. The fabric pieces need to be larger obviously, since they are stitched together on the inside seam and wrap around the pad.
