MM 1. MFP Shoulders. Help?

Hey guys, I don't have the money for a jacket from Southbeach or Abbyshot so I'm gonna attempt to modify my old rocker jacket by cutting off the belt, coin pocket, and epaulets and patching over the cuts. Now, they're are plenty of tutorials for the shoulder armor on MM2 and 3 but I haven't seen any for the original MFP jacket. Dragon con is a month away now so I may just wait till later for the jacket and just wear a non-bonds blue shirt even though I hate that idea but I live in Atlanta and it's been hotter than normal with the humidity reaching RIDICULOUS levels.

The cheapest way to do it is to cut them out of a plastic baseball helmet, preferably black. You can make a paper template
first to get the oblong shape right. I would mark and drill out the rivet and tiny stitching holes before cutting out the shape,a lot easier that way. I think you can get both plates from one helmet. The movie ones were white plastic and spray painted black if you want to go that way with it. You can see a few hints of white especially on goose' scratched up armor.

If you are really pressed for time, you can try a second hand sports equipment store and pick up some hockey knee pads/shinguards. If you're lucky you might find one with knee pads that will work for the shoulder armor. It won't look as good nor be as accurate as the other methods, but it's better than nothing... and no one but a die-hard fan will notice or care anyway.

I'm going to DragonCon, too! And I'm bringing my Humungus Machine for the parade! The Wolfpack Elite costuming (party) group is doing a post apocalyptic theme for the parade again this year, and there will be several MFP officers walking alongside the marauders. Second hand sports equipment stores are definitely the way to go. As suggested, you may find some old pads that look about right, or you may want to try the baseball helmet method. The shoulder caps on the Abbyshot jacket are ovals that are about 5" wide and 7" long.

If you really want to do it on the cheap I can send you the leather shoulder caps that I took off of my southbeachleather jacket. They're not movie correct but they make your jacket look like MFP to 90% of the folks out there. I've also got a decent pair of handcuffs if you want them. The handcuffs were $12 but I'll send you everything for $5 plus shipping if you want it.
I have an extra garrison belt around here somewhere too if you want that for $10. (It's a reasonably close approximation of the belt Max uses for his pants.)

For a badge, I recently saw someone selling metal badges on eBay that were nearly as good as the Abbyshot ones and for a lot less ($15 I think).

I MIGHT take you up on the belt. My main concern is adapting my motorcycle jacket into an MFP jacket. I've already got a pair of handcuffs though (I'm an escape artist and use to work at carnivals and circuses doing sideshow haha). A friend of mine says he'll sell me his old goose boots for $30 so I might go as a motor patrol since I have a scooter haha. I have a helmet like the one Goose wore except it's black and obviously doesn't have the mouth guard.
