Yellow Interceptor
Hi.
In the research process for the building of the 4 door replica, we think that we might have uncovered that the yellow car was first fitted with wider wheels, and these touched the cars body and were discarded.
If you look at the lower shot of the yellow car just after Max and Goose had stopped for the trike, and were answering the call to leave, you can clearly see that the tyre was on a deep dish rim , and it was a monster wide tyre. You can also see a line on the tyre tread that looks like the point at which the tyre touched the cars body under suspension travel.
Have a look and see what you guys think.
Fussy buggers club are welcome to have a look.
I am fairly convinced that the car had wider tyers/wheels at this stage.
On the Interceptor they cut the quarters to allow for the suspension travel.
I do not know why they did not do the same on the yellow car, unless the future retail sale was being considered.
Cheers
Gordon.
