Little more progress..
Airbox is built...it holds a K&N filter inside, and will connect to the MAF and has a carbon fiber bell that goes through the core support for cool air!

Dash wiring is coming along too...got the lower dash facia all done and mounted, along with the billet a/c control panel mounted where the factory heater controls used to be..

Image

Still waiting on a couple of a/c fittings, soon as the rest get here I can trim the hoses to length and crimp everything up. Once I do the holes for the heater hose bulkheads in the firewall, it will be about time to drop the engine out of the way and paint the engine bay !

It's coming along well still !

I got a few things done....I moved the forward lamp harness so it will be hidden from the engine bay basically...it uses to come through the firewall right under the throttle cable. I welded that up and ran it out the side, and it goes under the fender area. came out great. Also got the battery tray mounted as well. The bottom is one I bought (for an Optima battery) and I made the top out of a piece of aluminum stock then polished it.

I also made all of the A/C lines as well. I figured a way to nearly completely hide them also. Aside from a couple short runs (that will be braided stainless lines) from the compressor to the inner fender area, the rest will be hidden.

Here is where the -10 and -6 lines enter the car and go under the dash to the Hot Rod Air unit..

Image

Here is mocking up for the reciever/drier and the other lines on the passenger side..once the fender goes on this will all be hidden of course !

Image

And mocking up the driveside. You can see where the lines go through the inner skirt area and will eventually go to the compressor...

Image

And to make all of the lines, I bought my own a/c hose crimper. It is a mastercool brand is a top notch unit ! Makes the correct crimp a piece of cake!

I have a few of the lines mounted now, all the ones under the dash are done and mounted along with finish mounting of the a/c box. I mounted the hard lines on the passenger side (like shown) too. Just will finish mounting the cross hard lines and flex lines on the driverside soon as I paint the engine bay (which is coming up soon) The brake booster I ordered will be here in a few days, and once I have the mounting for it sorted out, that will be about it for the engine bay and painting can happen soon. Already have the paint too..it will be late Commodore ,Sting Red.

Was busy with work for a while loading containers and what not, but got back into the car the past few weeks and making some real good progress. As you can see engine bay is painted and done, and I also finished off the suspension too. Sandblasted the subframe, painted it with Eastwood chassis black, then assembled it all and put it into the car to stay. On the engine, got all the wiring finished off along with hiding the coil packs as well inbetween the intake runner...really happy with how it came out (and hid the wiring to them as well) just have to make some longer plug wires now. Everything else in the engine bay is new pretty much. I am trying not to think what I've spent on braided lines and fittings lately either

Also hung a guard on it to see how the wheels are going to look...I have not put the coil springs in it yet, but got the approxamate ride height set with a stand under the lower control arm for the moment. Front suspension is all new of course, and also detailed the rack and pinion. Only thing left to do is route the brake hoses from the calipers up to the hard line coming through the inner skirt, and then add the coil springs, pack the wheel bearings, oh..and decide on shocks, ha ha... probably will go with adjustable QA1's.
