Toying with Selling my 74 Landau

Post by micka »

Hi all,

I have owned my 74 landau for over 14 years now and feel it may be time to part ways. I took this car to Broken Hill for the Back to the Max all those years ago and had a ball. I have held on to this car for a long time hoping I could fine the time and money to restore her but to date this hasnt happened and in the near future I dont think this will be likely, dont get me wrong I love the car and dont really want to get rid of it, but commitments change and how many cars do you actually hold onto.

The car is black with chrome mirrors and scuttle panel, if you know the car it used to be all black but I have modified a little. It has chrome craigers on it now ( I think thats what they are) they hardly do it justice but they look OK. The car has a 351 cleveland with a set of gear drives in her, FMX auto and 9inch diff. Its not the original running gear all this was changed before I bought her, original diff only.

She runs ok, probably needs a really good tune, it is still registered in melbourne. The last long trip it did was to broken hill and I didnt have a problem with the car. I have done a couple of local country trips in the car, ballarat, geelong, shepparton its been to the spring nats a couple of times over the years.

I have always had the car under covers in the carage, it is a little dusty but a good clean always turns heads by the look and the sound of the car. When ever I take her to a show I get asked if I want to sell her. I have added a photos from a couple of years ago, if you giver her a polish she looks just as good. sorry about the size of the photo.

If interested please let me know, email is probably the easiest, [email protected]
I would rather see the car go to an enthusiast rather go to someone who will destroy her.

That's a beautiful car. I hate to say it, but I think you'll regret having sold it, if that's what you wind up doing. Every guy has that special car that he wishes he still had.

I think you will be right Draknoir but with another project on the go that I havent touched for over 6 years and another car that sees the light of day as much as this one does, maybe its time one of them goes. When I bought this car I was chasing an XB GT 2 door but was lucky to find my landau. Hopefully she will go to a good home, Someone who loves it as much as I do and gets it out and plays with it, with work and family commitments its so hard.

If anyone is interested please let me know, I can organise to have a look.

Kind Regards Micka
