What makes The Road Warrior superior to Mad Max?

For any discussions at all relating to the original trilogy

If nothing else, you've inspired me to re-view "Mad Max" in order to give you some examples.

Offhand, I'd say pacing. Road Warrior was made in the video-game / MTV era.
Mad Max, by contrast, drags like a lame black and white movie on Creature Double Feature.
The whole story could have been told in half an hour, with more/better ACTION.

I guess that sums it up: ACTION. Too much talk, too much "dead air" in Mad Max.

And your lack of knowledge about how/ when the films were made is apparent.....
Normally people sign up to a particular forum because they are interested in a particular subject/ theme.
If you joined up to simply bag the movies, then im thinking you must be extremly bored ?

Yes more action.... more bang bangs... more cars being blown up... yawn fricking yawn.
If you had an inkling of how the movie was made and why it was done that way you may understand it a bit better.

The mere fact it was made off the backs of two people who had never made a motion picture, with little to no money, using a cast and crew made up of mostly people in their early 20s, strikes me as a good effort.
Real stunt driving was used on dry roads, with real people... OMG!!!!
We are 100% snafu....

It's not really fair to compare the first two films as equals, when strictly in te ms of funding, they're not. MM1 cost, what was it $100,000 to make and MM2 a couple million? If MM1 had a million dollar budget I imagine we would have seen a few more car chases/action scenes.

As it stands, I still think they did a great job with what they had to work with.
