Framed,
I think you are the same guy who tried to contact me through eBay. I tried to respond to you but eBay said your email box was not working. I also responded to your pm but haven't heard back from you.
I'd be happy to help you out with your stuff, but maybe the best thing for you to do is send me a PM with your real email address and I'll contact you that way.

As for your question, the rivets on the prototype holster that Magnolia Leather Works made had silver rivets. The new version I just posted pictures of has brass rivets. If you look at screenshots from the movie, it can be hard to tell if the rivets are brass or silver. This is because both silver and brass will often photograph as silver in bright conditions (such as in the desert sun or under movie lights). And most rivets are not real brass, but some kind of silver-colored metal with a brass coating. If this coating gets scratched or worn, the silver color comes through.

I have a lot of good HD screenshots of the holster and my feeling is that the rivets are probably brass. But some of the screenshots definitely make them look silver so go with your heart.

Here are some new photos of my custom modified holster.
I added a couple of details to make the holster even more movie accurate. I added a different type of rivet on the bottom left, and I added grooves at the bottom of the holster and the sides of the top part. Subtle, but noticeable. I also added a rivet on the top strap, which is visible in the movie. There may or may not also be a rivet on the bottom strap, so I added one anyway, but it's speculative.

The grooves and strap rivet would probably be something Magnolia Leatherworks would do for you on request. And I bet they wouldn't even charge for it (but I can't say for sure). The different rivet on the bottom front of the holster is something that they can't do as far as know since they don't have that style of rivet (I had him just leave that hole open for me and I added it myself).

The holster looks great, Jared. but it needs to be scuffed up a bit more. Tie it behind your car and drag it down a dirt and gravel road for a few hundred feet.

Oh, and how did the dummy .38 ammo go over at the event?

Armourer,
Yeah, I'm going to scuff it up just a little bit. There is one spot that I'm going to hit with some acetone I think. But other than that, I think it's pretty correct. If you look closely at the hidef screenshots you'll see that his holster usually looks like it's in pretty good shape, aside from a bit of dirt. (and the photos above make the holster look a bit newer and shinier than it really looks in person)

As for the ammo, the people I showed it to thought it was really cool. I'm actually going to put up a separate thread tonight or tomorrow all about my MM1 leather shoulder holster that will talk about and show pics of the deactivated bullets you sent me. (I just took a bunch of new photos today, came out cool)
Thanks again.
