I think this is a pile of crap as some of the quotes seem familiar from other interviews but I'll remain disapointed until this story is either debunked or confirmed by other sources.

The WORST news ever......if it's true.
And Cundalini wants his hand back!
Re: The WORST news ever......if it's true.
I would find it a grave mistake, and a great injustice to us fans that have kept the legend alive.
The younger generation will gobble it up though... And that's the deal nowadays, make money, screw what the fans want. Spend outrageous amounts of money on CGI, because real stunts we can plan out, but never get perfect on the first try. We'll just start over in a cartoon. Don't get me wrong, I like watching anime from time to time. But damn, max as an anime character?

Re: The WORST news ever......if it's true.
This news really pissed me off to no avail. Mad Max 4 Fury Road... ...as an Anime feature... ...instead of the real thing? That's the most pathetic thing I have ever heard of in my entire life! To think I and countless other hordes of Mad Max fans waited over 20 years for this! 20 years! F****n come on! Over 20 years to see some 3D or 1D film?? This is preposterous. I didn't wait over 20 years for some cartoon. None of you guys did either. I'll repeat. I didn't wait over 20 years for some CARTOON. I don't care if it's R rated. It's not the real thing. A cartoon. That's ridiculous. I don't mind Anime. My friend worships the stuff. For a Mad Max movie though? No-- f***en-- way... NO... That would royally screw the franchise right down the toilet full throttle. Viewers want mesmerizing visual effects and real landscapes with real people, real machines, real explosions and real stunts. A cartoon can never replace that- EVER. How the f**k can anyone- ANYONE- get any real adrenaline driving suspense from a CARTOON?? You can't. I never could. It just isn't there. I heard there was a sequel to the Chronicles of Riddick, until I found out that the sequel was an animated flick. I immediately lost interest. Mad Max 4 as a cartoon. Count me out-- way out. If is this is true I figured Miller right. I figured he would screw the franchise even more with this one than he did with Thunderdome. No cartoon BS. Either we get the real deal or no deal at all...

Looks like MM 4 is going to be a live action film after all. Here's the link dated to May 18/ 2009.

Maybe Miller read some of our war cries NOT to do a 3D anime film. Spoke to a man earlier this week who was visiting from Australia. I asked him why he thinks Miller would go the route of a 3D anime. In his opinion he said that Miller was losing money and was desperate.
