rings or buckles?

Post by Spitfire »

when buying boots, would it be better to go for rings or buckles?

i remember max had rings in MM3 but buckles in MM1 (in mm2, i couldnt really tell)

ive looked for boots for a while and eventually settled for Windsor Smiths (with rings)

so whats more authentic?

im pretty sure he had buckles in all three films.

but as im in the u.s.. i wear harness boots. "rings".

so whatever. Their coats and zippers button up on the left which is odd, like our girls clothes do.

It's not a matter of buckles or rings. Max's boots in MM2 had both buckles AND rings. Sounds like you are trying to compare Max's boots with the motorcycle boots that are commercially available today and it just doesn't work. The boots you find today have either harnesses, or straps built-into the boot, and seem to be more for decorative purposes than anything else.
Max's boots in MM2 had separate ankle straps that went through a loop on the rear, and buckled together. His boots also had separate boot harnesses that buckled on, and had rings (triangular rings). If you count rings and buckles, you actually get 2 rings and 2 buckles per boot.
Max actually wears the same boots in all 3 movies - the only thing that changes is the harnesses and the straps.
