Battletruck / Warlords of the 21st Century is a post-apocalyptic movie that has some positive attributes. The title vehicle is a tractor-trailer armed with multiple machine-guns. :D

I believe the entire movie has been uploaded to YouTube in several parts. It is not yet on DVD.

While not post-apocalyptic, Death Race from last year had the best practical vehicular stunts filmed since Mad Max 2.

Most people do not like it but one of my favorite movies is Knight Rider 2010. It was released as a television movie in March 1994 in the U.S. as part of the Universal Studios "Action Pack" of television movies that included TekWar and Hercules.

There were a few different introductory "teaser" narrations to each airing of the movie.

Move over Mad Max. There is a new Road Warrior in town. In the world of Knight Rider 2010, you lead, follow or get blown away. You've got to drive to survive.

In the world of Knight RIder 2010, firepower is your best friend, cyberpunks are your enemy, horsepower is your only hope. You've got to drive to survive.

Knight Rider 2010 cannot compare to the Mad Max Trilogy but it did include a few excellent (too short, but excellent) automotive combat sequences.

BATTLETRUCK is one of my all time favourite movies, absolutely flawless, and it did the METHANE thing before THUNDERDOME did.
An old member on this forum INTERDICTOR and i always planned on building a custom model kit of BATTLETRUCK, i always wondered if he ever did get round to it - he was gonna use a Kenworth as the base i think.

I enjoyed BATTLETRUCK as well. Nothing like a little Michael Beck to add some flavor to your low-budget actioner (see also MEGAFORCE!).

By the way, I recently rented and then forced my way through the whole of "Steel Frontier." Good god, what a terrible movie. The MM2 elements were really obvious (and lame: see Wez substitute "Chicken Boy"), and there were one or two kinda cool things (besides Joe Lara's custom leathers), but overall I had to wonder, "Why would they wait 14 years to make a really bad 'Road Warrior' ripoff?"

The Thomas Jane Punisher straight up ripped off the killing of his family from Mad Max almost right down to Jane's reaction upon finding wife and kid run over. Also he drives a black musclecar.

What about this.
The Highwayman.
Image
It was a tv series back in the eighties. It aired in the states and australia.
It was an attempt at mixing two popular genres being mad max and knight rider.
The lead actor was a 'Sam Jones' who does look a little like Vernon Wells.
Some of you may remember him as the very blonde Flash Gordon from the 1980 film of the same name.
I even remember they had a token aussie in it who was a former footballer; Mark "Jacko" Jackson.
I dont know if he was that great at football, let alone acting.
His weapon of choice was a steel boomerang. (I think ive seen that before somewhere, anyone?)

Heres the link to the intro. You can then watch other highwayman videos if you wish..........or not

By the way......The truck used in the series is up for sale.

Given the ecenomic situation gripping the states, you would be able to beat that price down a lot.
