Offloading Mad Max 2 collection

People come here to trade, do a little business. If you've got nothing to trade you've got no business in Bartertown. (Buy / Sell / Swap / etc)

Offloading Mad Max 2 collection

Post by dusty hills »

My best friend in North Qld has just been in contact with me regarding his Mad Max 2 collection. He has a collection of original Mad Max 2 film cells he wants to offload. I have told him I see them in displays on ebay and seem to be a new wave of collecting in 35mm. He is not interested in joining the forum now as he hasn't any interest, but from memory he also has many photos from MM2 & MM3 which I will try and get so I can share on the forum.
If anyone has an interest in these 35mm cells let me know and I will try and arrange something.
I'm not a frequent visitor myself anymore but check whats new once in a while...

I'd be interested in them, any way to see some scans or descriptions?
Thanks,
Jonathan

Have arranged pickup Friday of what I thought were 35mm cells but he tells me he has a complete Mad Max 2 35mm film he wants to sell. This is awesome news as I didnt think any were left. I'm told its on about four or five reels and is complete from start to finish.
He wants me to sell it for him, please if you are interested send me a private message with an offer for this rare gem. I will pass on all offers but please dont waste my time with silly offers, only genuine buyers. When I get it back here I will check the reels and can send photos to any interested.

Have returned this morning and bring tidings of great joy. I now have an original full length 35mm film of Mad Max 2 / Road Warrior complete start to finish. Although I dont have a 35mm projector I have inspected the start of each reel and seems like in good nick. There are a couple of splices but only at the start, there doesnt seem to be any thru it.
Maybe I should arrange a cinema viewing at the greater union, its been many years since I saw it on the big screen. The title is "THE ROAD WARRIOR" but unsure if dubbed but I wouldn't think so.
I still have no value on such a rare item dispite submitting a few offers to the owner, I may try on evil bay & see what happens.
Let me know of anyone interested, I will post a pic of the reels soon.........

Can you share what offers have not been accepted so we have an idea what you're looking for? Are you (your friend) willing to separate these and sell individually?

Im not sure if he will separate as it would ruin it for someone who wants a complete copy.
I will call over the weekend and ask but I have no influence, its his decision.
If he agrees which reel are you after or scenes.
I will PM average bid range so far.....

A deal has been struck in Japan for the film, for some reason it is very popular there, just a shame a classic film has to leave our shores....bon voyage

Thats a cool thing.
The film enjoyed worldwide release and has fans spanning the globe. Just coz the film was made in Australia, should not mean it is exclusive. Our Japanese brothers know how to put on a mad max event...
