Hey Sockatanski,
I am not the Kawaka expert (Kawaka Kid get my nomination among MANY others here for that), but I got given a 700 LTD a while back. It has so many diffrences both subtile and dramatic that it is a mostly diffrent bike. MAYBE the frame and some other small stuff is the same, but I would not be surprised if none of it is. Freebie or not I am back on the lookout for a genuine "KZ1000 A1"

I hope those new Goose-replica fairings are a success.

Some considerable time ago now  , I suggested that a run of Goose fairings would be made from using a decent, original La Parissienne fairing that I purchased from a local bike wrecker many years ago.

After getting some insanely expensive quotes from local fibreglass businesses (try >$1500 for 1 single mould !), and putting together the total costs for manufacturing these myself, the numbers just didn't add up. I did have a number of people (about 15 all up) who expressed an interest in buying a complete fairing kit - the total cost of which would have well exceeded $2000AUS.

It was just not a sensible business decision to continue. The amount of time involved in hand-laying these fairings, the postage costs to all parts of the globe, and materials costs, was just too much. And thats before any construction of a frame-mount kit  - this would have added maybe another 3 or 4 hundred bucks to the total cost.....

Maybe a run of 100 would have justified the initial tooling-up, but for 15 ?? No can do.

So my humble apologies to all those members out there who did e-mail me over a period of time, requesting a fairing. Now that another manufacturer has jumped into the void, I sincerely wish them the best of luck with their venture.

8-)

Gosling 1 where do you hail from USA or OZ?? If USA I would suggest contacting Troy @ Mad Max Cars . He is very into the moulding of fibreglas and carbon fiber parts . He could also probably help you on the marketing of the fairings and help drive down the costs. I don't know if you've already been that route or not ,but thought I'd suggest that.

It is NO wonder that people are having such a hard time finding fairing.
We finally have a company that obviously has put some time into this seemingly impossible venture and now we are going to knock them for doing so and or try to get another competitor selling same fairing.

I thought the common goal of this thread was to make this part available??????
