As a huge fan of Indiana Jones I have to say I was a bit dissapointed in thist latest effort from Lucasfilm.
The film starts off great but gradually turns sour halfway through. A little over the top even for a movie of this type.
Still liked it but doubt I will see it multiple times like I always do with films I like.
Iron man was way more enjoyable. My 2 cents worth.

...sorta slow motion. he leaves the seat, goes through the windscreen, headfirst straight into the tree...right. and then, bounces back through the windscreen. by the time we got to him.. he was just sittin there trying to scream with his face ripped off......whats the matter?

I enjoyed it too. I think this was sort of Indy's swan-song and Lucas is setting up Shia Labouf to step in as the next generation hero. I need to go see it again so I can enjoy the background settings. I also enjoy finding the little historical anachronisms that always seem to pop up in Lucas's period films. The only thing that really struck me as apparent was the Russians using AKM's in '57 when they weren't fielded until '59, but normal folk don't notice that stuff. :D

Guess Jones will be battling Russian from now on.

In the five star rating I would give it 4. I loved it, but it suffered from the CGI overkill today's blockbusters are known for today. Shia wasn't all that shabby, but I don't see a next "Dr Jones" in him. Hell, he is a mechanic with no archaeological background. And that is part of Indiana Jones. He knows everything, and will be able to figure out complex things. They did bloom the fact of "highschool drop out" by having Mudd have some "smart" moments. But seeing Mudd as then next Indy? Sorry, I just can't.

If there where to be Indy 5 & 6 without Harrison Ford it wouldn't be Indy. Just like Mad Max wouldn't be Mad Max without... right...

Now one might be wondering... will they cut it off here, or milk the cow and produce a 5th and 6th Indy in the next couple of years? They better hurry and make that decision though, because the lead actor is on the way to 70...
