If you where to be able to "score" it for cheap, you can always take the 4x4 junk out and put some "real" running gear back.

Hey Sam, Dunno but it looks like something they'd sell at Toy r Us?

Maybe we could get an expert opinion?

(expert = x-unknown factor, spert = a drip under pressure)

It says the 4x4 stuff is from a Factory 4x4 XY ute.I'm sure the factory strengthened the unibody on the utes but i doubt it on this XB coupe.I wouldn't be hitting the trails with this thing unless the frame was tied or the body put on a rigid full frame.

I sold some XB parts on Ebay the other day, and the guy picked them up in his XB Coupe Convertible.

In my opinion XB's don't make very good looking convertibles, but this guy was trying to turn a bodgy job into a half-decent job so I gotta give him credit.

Few years ago i saw a convertable XB coupe here in town.
From a distance i actually thought the car had been rolled!
(It was at me mates wrecking yard)
When i got closer i realised it was the fabric roof. Which in all honesty looked hideous!
Even are full length chassis rails had been welded to the floor, the car still bent in the middle a little.
The doors were not able to be aligned at all.
I'll see if i can find some pictures of it.....

I owned a 77 Firebird that was made into a convertable the thing had a custom roll cage to strengthen the framing and the frame was tied in as well.It had a built up 350 Chevy and a custom snap on top with the rear window made like the Batman sign.the thing was rotted to shit but was a fun car untill it rained

I dont see the point in it.
4WD's were invented so we wouldn't need to do this surely.
Looks like a waste of time, money, and a perfectly good muscle car.

This is MY opinion, you may like these things so good on ya..
One good thing is that it would be easy to work on..lol

And Dan, dont even mention this one to me, one viewing is enough, Im moving on...lol
If it's all the same to you....I'll drive that tanker!

Easier than normal. While I could at least do something with the engines from yester year, I can't do squat with those new things. Computers and such... Bah...

I think a 4x4 XB coupe could look nice if finished correctly, but I'd rather have it "down to earth" with a nice V8 and t-lok rearend.
