Come on JA, after 3 days of 1 particular users pointless crap the photo of the real BoB is a sight for sore eyes.

I know what you're saying mad dan,my only gripe is that nearly the self and same pic is already on this site and to post the pic as if it's something so original tells me that the member posting it has never bothered to look through here himself or he wouldn't have bothered posting the pic as it's pretty much here already, doesn't say much for all PB's hard work with this site,if on the other hand it's posted in relation to compliment the photo on this site then that's a different matter,or post a totally different pic from the same album so that even I can be amazed with the greatness!. Big deal out of nothing? Maybe but it's my opinion and I would say a valid one considering the latest troubles on here!

The forum has went into a bad place..... someone try to share a bit and gets flamed.
Just because the photo is similar to one already on the site?

Something like this....
I posted the first picture here sometime ago. Now I was able to get a few more photos and one of them (pic 2)
is similar the the one I already posted.
Now I have keep it for myself?

There is much other crap posted on the forum to worry about.

Thanks for posting the pic Pete, I can look at pics from the movie all day, even ones I have seen before. I know that most of the pictures of the first movie car were stolen so I appreciate any new angles on the making of these cars. Have you got any more?

Hey Cueball, your picture postings have been one of the few things worth visiting the forum for, keep it up

The photo comes from the album of the guy who did the majority of fibreglassing on the BoB stunt car ... flares and spoilers ... including the Scott hat which he made from cardboard and fibreglass.

Unfortunately it was "just another job" so he only has about a dozen pics from MM2.

He made the skull emblem on the Landau ... which can just be seen in the pic above the posted pic ... the front of the Red Monaro, the wing on the bat XA coupe plus a bunch of smaller items.

I only took one pic of his album as he has graciously offered to scan the rest for me.

He also made the Harbour Bridge and a lot of the buildings in the model of Sydney used at the end of Thunderdome.

He made Blasters helmet and still has the first prototype on his mantle.

Hey Pete.
Have you got the other photos. the red manaro front and the red xa bat boot spoiler.
Love to see em if you have.

Hey Dan

I'm hoping to pick-up the scans next weekend ... he's a fibreglass guy not a computer guy

I'm happy to share the pics on the board.

As for posting a photo similar to one on the main site ... similar is the operative word. The text above and below the pic on Peter B's site infers that the pic is the original car being prepared for MM2. Only a couple of pics later is the replica mentioned. Neither car appears to have side scoops so it's possible that both pics are of the same car ... the replica. Both cars are in the same workshop but that proves nothing as the replica was made using the original as a visual reference ... no moulds were taken it was just done "by eye with wood, cardboard. glass and a lot of sanding".

I have nothing but respect for Peter B and his site. It's just plain sad that I share this pic with the board and get flamed for doing so.

Pete,

The car in both pics is the double car, if you place the cursor over the pic on this site it says that it's "an Interceptor under construction" which doesn't really point to one car in particular but it couldn't be the original for several reasons, one being that the rear flares are not yet moulded in,this can be seen on the pic on this site and also on the pic that you posted if you study closely which means it's the double car,the original car had all the glass work already done which meant just fitting the tanks and chopping the lower spoiler.

I may have read this wrong but you say that no moulds were taken? are you talking about the double car? if so Pete, the moulding 'flange' on the rear flares can clearly be seen which would indicate that moulds were taken from the original car,if the flares were built from scratch there would not be this 'flange' as I call it around the flare, this can also be seen on the double car in the opening chase where the glass is cracking!

If I have mis-understood your post my apologies but I'm now very curious to hear any back ground info you may have heard surrounding the car in the picture.
