Yep, and here are some more spoilers:

In the film Alien, the character played by Ian Holm is really a bad guy and an android. Sadly he doesn't reprise the role in Lord of the Rings. He's just a hobbit... I was soooo disappointed.

Old Yeller dies... so does King Kong, and so does The Lord Humungus.

Lassie does not actually "speak" the actors around him interpret that frantic yapping as: "Little Johnny fell down a well and can't get out, so bring a rope fast and don't forget to bring his asthma inhaler, he'll need it!" this is for the benefit iof the audience watching the film, tricking you into thinking Lassie is really clever.
(I know, I was gutted when I heard about it too.)

Mary Poppins did indeed leave when the wind changed and didn't become the kids step-mother as we all hoped she would. Also laughing hysterically does not make you float up in the air! Grrrrrrr.

William Shatner is not James .T. Kirk in real life and does not command the Starship Enterprise which is, in fact, only a 6 inch polystyrene model.

And lastly ... the Butler did it.
