In this month's customer newsletter we announced the return of Mad Max Jackets in their full range of sizes. If you've been waiting for us to make certain sizes available again, then the time has arrived! Last year there was lots of demand for this jacket, way beyond expectations - so much so that we ended up running out of sizes. Now they're back! Order early to get your size!
I'm very interested in feedback from those who have bought one of these jackets, re: choosing the best size. I'm 6' 2" and my measurements seem to be spot-on for a 42" jacket but I normally buy jackets which are larger. Is there anybody on these boards who picked a larger size just to be on the safe side?
I don't have one yet myself, but it seems like almost everyone who has one of our cars has bought an Abbyshot jacket and they absolutly love them. I also met lots of folks who had them at Roadwar NW, and by all accounts they are a very excellent Leather Jacket, made to the best of standards for every day abuse (even by the MFP). Seriously though, I tryed one on and it is no costume.
I know that most of the Abbyshot items are available in custom sizes, for an additional cost. A bunch of folks on this forum have them, and know better than I. Someone is bound to speak up.
"We'll see you on the road scag, We'll see you like we saw the nightrider!!!", "Perhaps its a result of anxiety...." MFP1
I bought my jacket when I met the Abbyshot folks in Atlanta, so I was able to try a few on first to get the right size. I would definitely recommend trying one on in person before ordering one online.
As for the jacket itself, they are very well made and comfortable. The leather is soft and has a plush liner that cannot be removed, which makes it rather warm. I drove a Camaro for about 45 minutes over the expressway... with no side windows and no rear hatch. It would have been freezing except for my Abbyshot jacket, which kept me quite warm. I think it would be the same if you were riding a motorcycle. Anyone else?
Many thanks, HUMVEE Driver! You have a great costume! Thanks too, MFP1!
As I'm in the UK, I'm going to have to go with the size which looks best on paper. The guys at Abbyshot have been excellent and measured up actual jackets for me so I now know the dimensions of the 42" and 44" jackets.
I'll be placing an order soon once I've finished comparing the Max dimensions to other jackets in my wardrobe.
Will let you know how I get on (and will post pics in due course).
