MFP uniforms

Post by PursuitSpecial »

So checking out the fan section on the website, looks like everyone that has submitted a photo has dressed up like a Road Warrior Max.

I know there are others out there who have Abbyshot jackets and black leather pants (like myself) for the MFP look from Mad Max 1 that haven't got a pic up. So what's up with that? Doug I think is the only other guy I've seen a pic of in an MFP uniform from MM1.

So anyone want to share a pic of themselves in the MFP uniform?

MFP uniforms

Actually, I only have the jacket and gloves. Humvee (Dave) is the the one with the complete uniform in the pics from the detroit comicon.

I hope I'm not the only one with a complete outfit...

My Mad Max outfit is comprised of:

Abbyshot Mad Max jacket.
Leather pants WITH pockets; after an exhausting search, I was unable to find any without back pockets.
Correct blue color T-Shirt
Russian Officer boots, very close to the boots Max wore.
Two Abbyshot MFP badges, one for the jacket, one for the right boot.
Abbyshot MFP gloves.
Number plate, courtesy of Bronze 21.
MFP Markmanship? pin from Abbyshot.
Custom leather shoulder holster for the revolver.
Replica S+W Model 53 Revolver (at least I think that is what it is called)
Custom belt holster for the shotgun.
Airsoft Mad Max shotgun.
Police handcuffs (real)
Police nightstick (again, real)
MFP type sunglasses, thanks to Karol at http://www.madmaxcostumes.com for finding a brand that nearly matches.

But there have to be others out there with similar gear. You can check the Detroit Comic Con thread for some images, and I should have some new pics to post soon.

I know that it is not really a "MFP" uniform..... But it may count in the "BackStory" sense.......but.............. The "BadCop" Berserker outfit (mine was made by Karol for Roadwar), is a really cool uniform. I like to think of the Berserkers as "Rouge x-MFP" officers gone bad. Similar to Max, only without as much class, or individuality. Possibly went bad as a group (re similar outfits) or disenfranchized from HQ by the "disaster", eventually joining Humungus's gang of Vermin.

I feel that the outfit is pretty complete:
Correct Silver/Black Helmet
Avaitor Shades
Spiked "Muzzle"
Berserker Jacket ("cafe racer" meets the "hells angels marching band")
MFP # plate, courtesy of Bronze 21
Gauntlet style Gloves
Black t
Leather Pants
Studded Codpiece
Engeneer Boots
Cricket Pads (hand made replicas, VERY AWESOME, but looking for real)
Wham-o Powermaster CrossBow
Butchers Cleaver
1962 issue Police Handcuffs (from a retired Pinkerton officer)
of course all of the weapons pilfered from my max outfit, and most of all:
The Red XA!

There is quite a few. Best place to look is the roadwarusa.com "Roadwar NW Gallery" page, it also has a link to the flikr gallery. Also a few on the madmaxcars.com "Client Gallery" page. I am assembeling a "Scrapbook" of the car and costume pics from the event, and will do some posting when I have something new to offer.

Here are some shots of my MFP uniform. The only thing not shown is my Russian Officer's boots, the Abbyshot gloves, and the sunglasses.

I only have sun glasses that look like the ones Max was wearing at the start of MM1 (aviator mirrors) but we have a double barrel shotgun (12 guage) that i could cut into a sawn off, but im sure no one would take it the right way as the shotgun is over 50 years old.
