Madmax fan compound

Post by revline »

As my mind was clearing through yet another boozy haze into the morning clarity it pondered on my intended trip to my beloved Oz. The end of this month in fact if the plane doesn't fall down I will be out of this concrete jungle and venturing out into the wasteland, likely in an ole' beat up falcon too. What kind of fool would consider a holiday in the scrub!

Anyhoo, I was thinking about all that unused crown land out there and mused on the idea of a bunch of crazed MM fans blasting around in some ole beat up unregistered rigs derived from the trading post and whereever dubious. S%%&boxes with 5 minutes of registrating on them in order to get them out there I suppose. Wouldn't be too hard to get hold of a bunch of used tires, the wreckers would probably welcome them away. Hell a school bus could probably be easily rustled up.

What is crown land anyhow? How may it be used?

If they have the ROAD WAR gig in the states then surely we could do it.

And lastly, apart from existing in fantasy land.........where should such a place be squated?

Crown land is a left over term from ye old mother land.... basically means lands owned by the Federal Government which is put to use or leased.

It all depends where this land is? And who is using it..... If its leased to cattle gaziers and you tresspass and annoy his cattle... well you may be fired upon.. lol

It may also be National Park.. in which case you may or may not need a permit to drive... permit to camp....

If its simply abandoned and unused..... (which is higly unlikely, as most of it is leased to cattle graziers)... well... hmmm... depends if its fenced off or not...

There are areas of bush which isnt crown land.... and open to public use.

Figure I'll fork out say $1500 and as I haven't been home in many a year what am I likely to end up with? I guess an ole' xd falcon station wagon would do the trick. I need a rig like that in order to kip in the back but I will have a tent and a fishing rod or two. Hmm what shall I need....a map, couple of floosies, billy, fire making stuff, canned food. Ahh I did this back in the day, was on the road for quite a spell around Oz from 93- to around 97' then did same in NZ for 6 months. Can't wait to get back out on those open roads and seeing what stars are supposed to look like instead of just polluted haze. 4n20 meat pies, do ya remember 4n20 meat pies? Fish and chips on the beach. Do ya remember fish and chips on the beach? hehe. Can't wait.
