I have a nice 1/16 pulley and vinyl/rubber belt from an old funny car kit you can possibly use for masters if you'd like; I actually found them while we were moving into our house 3 years ago. Drop me an email if you're into it, and I'll send them.
Bronze: I'm sure the pre-order thing will extend into next year, at least, and then they will be sold out for another year after that. And it will probably go for like $500. It is a beauty, though. Would have liked to see the MM1 BoB first, though. There's a Barris 1:18 Batmobile diecast that's been up for pre-order for over a year now, with no ship date in sight. Same for the Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea Seaview model. I don't know why diecast model companies drag their feet like this...

Manx: Thanx :D I have a blown 1:18 Ford engine from GMP, and a 1:18 resin blower kit from Canada from which I mixed and matched parts to make the master mold. 1:16 is a bit on the large side, but thanks for the offer.

Do you guys want one of these blowers? I'm probably never going to wear this mold out.

The delay thing goes for the robots coming out of Japan as well...I collect items from the series Mospeada and Macross and a few other robot anime besides cars and A-10 Warthogs...have to post the pics sometime. Look at the Dinkum Classics car when it came out. It was something like $200-$300 AU. Now you see them every so often for around $100.ooUS. I'll probably buy the BoB2 at it's opening price (like the PS3/Wii nerds) just to have it. You never know, if it's as good as the Japanese pics, it'll be sweet. It shouldn't matter that it's the second car if it's built from Autoart...afterall, aren't they the new owners of Biante? My thinking is that you still modify a Tango XB for the BoB 1, and just buy the BoB 2. It'll all average out price-wise...maybe.

Not to sound like a mooch, but yeah...count me in for the blower. So far, the pieces I've seen you make are outstanding. You have to let me know what I can do for payment.

Not a mooch... I offered, and you're welcome to it. I already have an extra one laying around.

The GMP blower housing was less correct, so I used a resin model I got from this place in Canada. I really wasn't happy with the quality of their casting... bubbles, balls, and voids galore. I patched it as best I could before making the mold. The GMP pulleys were nice, so I used them instead of the resin crap. I'll send the whole part set, and you can assemble it any way you like. If you go with the larger, single pulley, you'll need to drill the mounting hole a bit larger, and clip the pulley shaft so it mounts closer to the housing. Easily done with a Dremel. I think that's what I'm going to do with mine. I wouldn't worry about the $0.70 that the ounce of metal cost me... I have twenty pounds left. ;)

I'm down for a blower, and I'm dying to see how your scoop and tires come out; lemme know by email what I can pay you for these awesome bits you're making. Hopefully in the next few days I'll set aside time to clean up the headlight & other openings on my 1/18 body, and it will be ready for casting if you're interested. 8-)

I'm getting ready for my annual camping/shooting/grilling/drinking/burning trip to Da U.P. next week, so I may not be able to get parts out until after labor day weekend. If I have some tween time this weekend, I'll crank a couple out before I leave. The injector and hat will be next, and the tires some time after that [still too humid to cast resin]. Gawd, the weather here is sucking out loud! Took me three hours to get home last night in torrential, sideways rain. It's been storming for a week straight, and all the rivers are flooding. And it's hot.

Oh, and Manx... I'm definitely interested!

So lemme ask...has anyone made the CONCORDE nosecone yet? If not, I could be persuaded to make one and cast it in resin (which would mimic the real car...composite and metal), or send it to DRAKNOIR and have him cast it in "Aluminium" as the Brits say. This would be done as a sort of thanks for all the parts currently being generated and help out the cause. If MANX is making the nose (going by the post above), I could make the rear spoilers and send them in for the BoB/MM1 car. Lemme know.

Sounds like an interesting proposal... three subcontractors on the same project. I'm up for it.

I'll have to send out the blowers after I get back from my Labor Day trip. It was a busy weekend.

Biante should have news on the MM2 1:18 BoB Interceptor model next week.
