Information on the Black Interceptor car

I have a friend who has historical information on what the mad max was built from. There is a magazine called "Motor Manual 1978" In the magazine there is a picture of a ford 2xdoor Falcon with a Monza front. The article titled "Horny Hard Top" talks about the design of the hard top for the Perth Motor show. There is no reference to the Mad Max however my friend feels it's a copy to it.

The car is one of two cars commisioned of Arcadipane by Perth Ford Dealers. Dubed October car. The Falcon is an unshamedly colourful tribute to Allan Moffat's Ford Dealer team victory at Bathurst October 1977. All three spoillers are identical to the mad max Black Interceptor.

Does anyone want a copy of the article in exchange for information on the Interceptor.

I am looking to contact site manager Peter Barton. My friend built an Interceptor Replica about 15 years ago. My friend has original photos of the car. He also has some original molds of the Monza Front.

My friend doesn't have access to the Internet. However if you would like to contact Tony on (02) 626 02224 at "California Custom"

I'm sure everyone here would love to see what info you have. I don't understand - why not just donate the articles / info to Peter's site as part of the knowledge base? A lot of information can be found right here at this very site reference the Interceptor.

Peter will no doubt read this post. In the unlikely event he doesn't, you can e-mail him directly as his e-mail address is prominently displayed here at the site. I'm sure he would be more than willing to accomodate pix of your friends replica at this site. As far as the mould goes you say your friend has, if it can produce some quality Monza noses AND if they are made available to replica builders, this would be of high interest to many.

Hopefully it's not one of those deals where your friend says he has a mould, but is unwilling to share it as that would not be impressive at all and would elicit a few yawns.

I recall "Eleanor" as the name of the yellow Mach 1 fom the original "Gone In 60 seconds"

Hopefully you and your friend are for real Eleanor. Actions speak louder than words. Hope to see some great stuff from you and your friend...

Well after reading about Tony,i just had to meet

him.So i drove 3 hrs to Hume (Canberra) to see his

monza mould.It is currently under contruction and

may not be ready for many months due to other priorities.It's true he used to own a black interceptor replica minus the roof spoiler and

flares.It did have the correct monza and the supercharger was no fake.He sold it over a decade

ago but still has heaps of photos.Some will eventually land with Peter B. and be viewed from

this site.It's whereabouts today is unkown.Tony

has a business restoring cars and is keen on building an interceptor replica again.It's his

personal ambition and is'nt interested in making

any profit from sales of monza noses but will be able to assist anyone for exchange of parts or vital information.
