After going to OZ, Japan..."Zipang" (as it was told by the Chinese to Marco Polo) is next on my list. I'd love to go to the National War Museum to see all of the Bushi/Samurai armour, and down to the museum that has the 1:10 scale Yamato Battleship model and one of the only remaining Zero's (I think it's in Yokohama(?)). Akihabara would be interesting to see (otaku here) but I'd REALLY like to see Osaka castle...even though it's in the "lowbrow" hick district of Japan...haha. Too bad I missed the Sakura tree festival recently with all the girls in their Yukata's...want to see that too.

Was that a statue of Hachiman holding the sword? Not sure what the ring on the cord represents, but the dragon is holding the "Orb of Wisdom and Power."

The other (monk(?)) statue looks like he's saying "YOU! YOU CAN RUN...BUT YOU CAN'T HIDE...from Buddha!!!"

Was there any type of memorial to the WWII bombing, or is that something that's been buried?

Haha, yeah I was thinking all chopper reeed myrelf but the pull my finger ........well try to top that! haha! Yeah biker I reckon he's the fire god or some such. zillions of god concepts here. In fact, walking around the sulfur vents there is all kinds of nonsense telling you that this particular water will cure the feeling of jelousy and some others telling of cures for some other such things. (being it all coming from the same source I was kind of skeptical). Well anyways the place is darn ugly unless you see the place from a perpective of a biker type that can take off into the regions that tourist types never get to see. Well I tell ya, there is a place not far down the road (in ozzie terms) that has painting that are hundreds of years old. anyone can touch them/destroy them/ rip em off and sell them. Hell, in our culture ya can't place a new phone booth in some town without some lowculture ratbreed trashing it. Here there ain't nothing but your honour/honor to stop you from disrespecting that which you are allowed to experience. Hell the other day I was veiwing a rock from the 13 hundreds. not a barrier in sight.. could have picked it up thrown it if I wanted to. It's amazing the difference in our culture. I can't walk down the strret in Australia without having some trash breed wanting my knukles in their violent venting cheeks. Here, hell, you can walk into any place, don't matter if it is 3 am, everyone respects the space of everyone else. It is amazing how in Oz rich and poor are segregated (I come from the middle class) in this land, they all live in the same place. Well anyhow.........it is a (hmm ) Tuesday and I am drinking beer. Peace.

Ohh Biker, hell yeahm there is great difference between the Chinese people and Japanese. Interestingly they cannot communicate via speech yet through written script, due to kanji being taken from China they can understand each other. There is some famous story of a Chinese a Japanese and a westerner in ancient times whereby all three where on a beach and in the sand they drew communicea. The two aisiatics thought the western fellow was a savage or some such because he could not understand kanji.
