They are actually located in Texas... I can't remember where though, I thought about 200-300 miles from where I currently live.

Hi Jon
Like most people on this forum I am a Ford guy so have to research these details ... I agree that the rear lamps are a source of confusion. I have owned a couple of HQ Monaro's over the years ... an LS in the late seventies, a GTS in the late eighties and an SS sedan that I restored a couple of years ago.
That said I can't for the life of me remember the interior lamp set up.
In a perfect case for keeping everything because it might come in handy 'one day' I sold my factory HQ manuals that would have sorted this in a moment on Ebay six months ago.
All I have is a generic aftermarket manual with scant detail about different models.
But here is what I have found. Looking at the wiring diagram that is labelled 'Wiring diagram for Belmont, Kingswood, Monaro and Premier' there are two circut options for the interior lamps.
60 Dome lamp (All models except Monaro)
58, 59 Rear quarter lamps (Monaro only)
I think it's fair to deduce from this that all Monaro's had the rear quarter lamps and no dome lamps.
It'd be great if someone IS building a replica ... not a moment too soon!

This may be a viable option. Even using the same "technique" as the original builders it would be impossible to duplicate the randomness of damage. Airbrushed "damage" would at least look like the same scuff mark.Quote: Originally posted by RickH

I can't imagine trying to tackle an accurate movie version. No mater what someone will come along and criticize this or that about the car. Of course even a "new" version of the car would too. It's a project that will be either loved or hated. Owner will need a thick skin.
Being a Yank I have no feeling one way or another about the Holdens; good or bad. To me it is just another car from Mad Max that deserves a little recognition.

Holden's are great little cars, I enjoy the ones I have/had

I would love to see a new version, but a battered and smashed one? Not so much... You can do a lot with airbrush nowadays, but it would never look like the real deal.
Let is shine, like all the road warrior replica's do!

I'm a Ford guy, but I grew up in a Holden family so I guess I like both. The cars I have in my garage are Ford and GM!
When I lived with my parents, dad had his LX Torana in the garage, and my XB was in the driveway. Two cars from the same era that once battled it out on the racetrack in the 70's.

So who registered the name DOGDICK???
was it you March Hare, or did Blaster beat you to it?

No Brad, not I. I laughed when I saw the name.
My laptop died so I have to get on when the work computer is not being used. I want to post some more pics so that some of the nastier thread disappear, replaced by the cars.
