Appreciate your comment Sockpuppet.

I can understand Gordon's ego taking a bit of a bruising with some of the recent comments but the issue was never about 'accuracy',it was about the build quality,to which Gordon defended himself in his final post here, which was fair enough if he felt that is what he needed to do......but then for Grant to turn it into a "ours are better than yours" thread was just uncalled for........ considering that they're not! It is insultive comments like that that divide members on this board, but let's not forget, some of us build these cars for different reasons to others!

When I first saw Nelson's car at the Nat's he jokingly said "Have a look at my car and tell me what's wrong" or words to that effect, all I could see was a superb Interceptor replica in front of me, nothing else mattered!

Adrian, sorry to hear you're so upset at all this btu 'snap out of it'. as much as I enjoyed your coupe I think it's safe to say that even I noticed that you had dirt in the wrong spots.... I'm very dissappointed. However Aeron absolutly loved your car and now wants me to build the same....looks like you've gained another son eh?

Sockpuppet, what else is wrong with the one in the mag?, I can think of 3 things! you can list them here along with who you are, if you dont have the guts to put who you are then I suggest you shut up!, I bet you have two dicks! Tool!

Adrian, I am sorry you are offended, and as I said its dissapointing to see so many incorectors and if you read the post properly you may understand where I am coming from, as I did say tho, its disapointing to see so many incorectors, these cars have had a lot of work done on them and we all know its not easy to build one, but to then go and use the wrong spoilers and do all the work blending in the wrong spoiler is a bit disapointing, these cars have traveled all the way from this country to the UK, USA, Japan and then to see it with the wrong shaped roof spoiler on it, is like doing it to a GT falcon today.

you can take my comments like you wish, but if people are going to go to the effort in another country to be a proud owner of an Australian ICON, then do it with the correct stuff!, and as I said, ours need to be more correct than most, and why? cause we sell them, not build one and one only to keep, we build em to give people what they cant get anywhere else. so please take my coments how you see fit. and its good to see you have had alot of fun with your car in this country! dont worry about what the police say you can or cant do, just keep doing it anyway, soon they will give up on you, once they get to know you.

regards Grant

I read the post properly and know exactly where you're coming from as do the rest of the forum members now and have taken your comments how they were written and how they were intended, they were crystal clear, but just so everyone else here fully understands your view on the matter let me just go through it again.....you're saying that if any rep owner or potential rep builder doesn't build an interceptor replica with the 'correct stuff' then they have done an injustice to an 'Australian icon' and is in fact not an Interceptor replica but a poor attempt....or to use your word....an 'Incorrector'? and this you compare to 'doing it to a GT falcon today'?!!! Wow!

Well I'm not sure what any other members think of this but I certainly hope that Gordon doesn't share this view,I would be very dissapointed if he did and would be very interested to know as would a few others on here!

Ok Grant, you are entitled to your opinion,I'm just glad that everyone else on here now know your thoughts as well, the rest of us will carry on enjoying our cars for the reason they were built....to enjoy such events as the Easternats,oh and by the way,if I had a dollar for everyone at the event that asked "are these the real cars from the movie" I would buy a GT!!! Accurate? who cares!

Mate, Aeron was a legend,I would keep my eye on him if I were you, I reckon you'll find the car one day with two oil drums through the back window and the body covered in mud!LoL

..Ade has made an observation here that sums up this whole mess. If the other 99.999% of the worlds population can look at a ( whoever's ) replica and ask that question, then the builder of that particular car has done thier job.... AND DONE IT CORRECTLY...

...The only ones telling you guys "thats not right"...is you guys.. and THATS NOT RIGHT..

.... to be divided by the same interest that brought us ALL together here makes NO SENSE.

If the kid down the street painted his 72 Gran Torino to look like the Big Bopper I'd give him a big THUMBS UP just because he had enough passion about the movie to do so.

I honestly don't know what the hell is going on around here. Movie correct or not, I don't care if you turn a torino or falcon into a replica. It's the thought that counts. The mad max vibe. Hell, it is universally known. When I asked people who owned matte black bikes and cars why they did it, 9 outta 10 said because of the mad max feel.

Is this really what it has come to? Fans and Builders duking it out because of claims that have or haven't been made in the past, present or inevitable future?

I seriously think Gordon was wise to walk away. Because this sh*t has to die... Leave it people... just... walk away... And mods: lean from this, whenever someone starts a debate like this again, no matter who it is, delete the post and stop the wildfire from spreading. Or ban the tool... If people want to duke it out, advise them to do it via e-mail. Don't even use Thunderdome for that. Because outsiders can still read it, and get caught up. I am actually all up for booting Thunderdome altogether. If you have a beef with someone, take it outside the forum! We don't want to know about problems that don't concern us...

You're right March Hare,it's because we all share the same interest that makes this forum work, and of course it goes without saying that there will be members that look at some of the fans reps and think to themselves that something maybe doesn't look quite right, thinking it is one thing but posting is another!

Justice, although I agree with the substance of your post I think you're slightly missing the point, yes,if someone comes along firing insults and this is offensive to board members then delete the posts or remove that member. This did happen to Gordon but let's not forget it was also the censorship issue that was the main reason for his decision!

"I seriously think that Gordon was wise to walk away" From what? His partner telling us our cars are not worthy and we should have made more of an effort? Do you agree with Grants comments?because Gordon and Grant build there reps together which is why I'd be interested to know what Gordon thinks.

This thread would've died a natural death, and as Sockpuppet said "job done"! so why would anyone then want to post something that would obviously offend, there was no reason for Grant to make his personal views on anyone's rep building skills public and I for one wanted my say.

Gordon has his own reasons to leave this forum behind, this sockpuppet thing being part of his decision or not. I for one would not stand here and be battered and smashed by comments from people who know and people who are just guessing. It is going to be an ongoing thing, something that never stops, since the internet is what it is. A shield to hide behind, where little men become heroes, and tall and strong men get beat down. In a one on one conversation this would not happen. This is why I think Gordon was wise to walk away. Foreseeing the obvious. An endless debate with harsh words flying from one to the other, and vice versa. The mods censoring words was not helping either. Where there is a fight there are 2 to blame, not just one. Remember this...

Anyway: All of this could be prevented if people use common knowledge and kept their pride and predjeduce to themselves on public forums. Like I said before: If you feel the need to point something out that is not so nice and very personal, whatever the subject: Do it via e-mail. Don't let the rest of the board read and pick sides. And this is all I have to say about the subject.

If there somehow is something people want to say to me about this, my e-mail is listed in my profile. I will not reply in this topic again.

I don't think there is any need for anyone to reply to you via email! "i will not reply in this topic again" It wasn't about you and my problem had nothing to do with Gordon or why he's left the forum it was to do with Grant bagging reps......WHICH WAS WRONG! It also has nothing to do with taking sides but everything to do with comments that should never have been posted on here. You have side tracked the whole point and whether you think I'm an *sshole or not it is WRONG for anyone to bag someone else's hard work publicly or otherwise.....that is MY point!
