Don't type in any unlock codes unless you understand the repercussions (this mainly applies to US/Canadian market users). If you do that, your DVD player will be region free; however, DVDs that use RCE Protection will not play; quite a few US release DVDs use RCE Protection. RCE Protection was developed to stop you from making your DVD player region free by typing in any codes. A true region free DVD player has been modified internally to account for RCE. You could buy a cheap DVD player and do the hack to make it region free; that way, you would still have your good DVD player to play RCE encoded DVDs; another option would be to make a region free copy of your foreign DVD on your PC; then you can play it in most newer DVD players without any hacks; most newer DVD players don't care if the DVD is NTSC or PAL, they only care about what region it is locked to.

Yeah... get a Windows XP machine!

Just kidding; you could try VLC Player; that used to work on older Apples; I don't know if it works on the newer Apples though. There are several firmware hacks; however, that will void your warranty. Your best bet is to spend a lot of time using Google and researching the issue; I don't have a G4 so I can't vouch for or endorse any of the solutions out there, especially the solutions that might screw up your computer.

I watch a lot of Japanese videos and they're the same region as OZ. There's a site called jlist.com that sells region-free DVD players for about $88.ooUS plus shipping. They're out of Kalifornia, so shipping takes about a week here in the States.

Did't that guy who played FOX die last year? I remember something on that...
And the biggest question relating to the film is what happened to that blown 57 chev after the film...? Never seen again but said to still exist.
And it has been suggested that it was built right here in Perth WA.
Cheers

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0596170/Richard Moir
...
Fox
In 1990, Moir was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, the degenerative effects of which gradually brought his acting career to a premature end. Moir later underwent deep brain stimulation therapy, a process covered by the 2006 documentary The Bridge At Midnight Trembles
sounds like you could be right about Fox, nothing about his passing though.
another link to mad max is that Kristoffer Grieves stars in both.

... and Gerry Sont who played the Concord Van driver is now a Real Estate Agent ... I reckon Moir got off lightly.
But seriously folks .. I saw Moir on telly a while back and he was in a very sad and deteriorated state ... a real tragedy.
