the fastest I have been in a car I own (as distinct from someone elses WRX) was 160klms/h in a 1984 KE70 1.3 litre Corolla

I was going down a steep hill, one of the infamous rollercoasters just north of Wollongong on mt Ousley road (in NSW Australia)

I took it out of 5th at 120 into angel gear (neutral) and let it roll from there.

Never again.

the brakes on that thing are like 1 cent pieces and they just dont work at 160. combined with the already poor handling (bent suspension strut) and that baby was bouncing, shaking groaning and shuddering and the diff was howling its head off.

how I ever made it round the sweeping corner at the bottom is a miracle

I stopped on the next hill and briefly considered just how lucky I was to be alive.

I forgot to mention what I drove! I have a 97 camaro SS. I used to have a 67fastback mustang...and this camaro blows the doors off! That old mustang was just to squirly in high speeds. But the camaro handles a lot better! I just want N2O (so when I hit 145 next time I can jump to 200mph!). hehe.

Car: 1970 Pontiac Catalina, friends parents car, not mine. 120MPH at night on the highway about 18 yrs ago.

Since then, my car either weren't that hot (Saab 99s, VW golf, and then speed governed (V8T-Bird and 3 company cars) at 112

A couple years ago however I did get my cycle (Honda CB1000) up to 135 on the 405 highway in California. A bit hairy.

A friend of mine has a 120... I refuse to go up with him because that plane is a piece of shit! It actually has duct tape on it to hold shit still! Shouldn't be flying!

"Technically" while IN a vehicle (a HUMMWV) I went in excess of 200 MPH with the engine not running. I was aboard a C141 at the time on my way to Panama.

Once I tied my ancles to a wallaby, then I shook up a can of lager real good and stuffed it up the poor little buggers arse and cracked it open. We went from Wollamagoo to Pickelywagglewogglepogganogga in no time.
