If you look real close you'll see a "Rubber Duck" hood ornament on this Charger also...... and directly above this icon of AMERICAN MADE DETROIT IRON is a sign that states: "se habla espanol"

Yes, its a common trick with scale modellers becasue the knight was so poor detail in the chassis (one piece, modeled in exhaust and suspension, etc) is to switch it with the chassis from the stealth.

although the 4000 looks better in black, why was it turned into a police cruiser?

aussiem muscle,

My Polish is a little off, but that page appears to say that the 4000 was redressed for "Power Ranger Time Force".

http://knightr.w.interia.pl/artykuly/4.htm

...has these pics:

"Po zakoxf1czeniu zdjxeaxe6 do tego filmu samochxf3d trafixb3 do filmu "Power Rangers Time Force" gdzie zostaxb3 przemalowany na czarno biaxb3o i zrobiono go na samochxf3d policyjny. Zobaczcie fotki."

...plus a few more.

Wikipedia says this, about reusing the 4000:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knight_rider_2000

"The studio was unable to use a real Pontiac Banshee for the movie, so instead it hired Jay Ohrberg Star Cars Inc. to customize a 1991 Dodge Stealth for the Knight 4000. The custom car can also be seen, albeit briefly, as a stolen supercar in CHiPs '99. "

The Polish page mentions it, too:

"

Knight 4000 Gdzie teraz jest?

Po zakoxf1czeniu zdjxeaxe6 do Knight Rider 2000 samochxf3d Knight 4000 dalej miaxb3 pracowaxe6 czyli promowaxe6 film w Los Angleles.

Niestety premiera filmu odcixb9gaxb3a sixea i samochxf3d staxb3 w magazynie Universal Studios. Makiety oraz inne modele miniaturowe Knight-a 4000 zostaxb3y zniszczone. Pozostal jedynie samochxf3d grajxb9cy w filmie.

I guess Universal Studios wanted to get their money's worth, when the movie did not become a series.
