Max's Revolver from Mad Max

Would have thought the MFP would equip it's officers with a bit better hardware than a Jumped up .22 sidearm.

The flare on the upper part of the grip does look like what was seen in the movie.

My DVD player has a Nice Zoom function, but can't go from Frame by frame to Pause, so it was difficult getting a good look at it this weekend.

Hmmm.. Isn'the carrying a revolver in Beyond Thunderdome?

Have to take a look at that..

I finally looked at the movie last night, trying to get a better look at the revolver. It looks like a large frame Smith and Wesson to me, with the old style "coke-bottle" grips. edited to correct (It might be the same one in Thunderdome, but its hard to tell for certain.) I looked again, playing Thunderdome on my computer and the revolver that Max turns over before entering Bartertown is definately not the same one he had in MM1. It looks like one of the cheap copies of a Smith, maybe a Llama?

For boots, I will recommend buying a pair of Russian officer boots and having them modified. They are very close in style and even have the nails in the soles. My friend tried it out and his boots look amazing. Cost is about $200.

If anyone wants to try it, let me know. I can have the same guy my friend used in LA do them, plus I am the only fan that I am aware of that actually owns a pair of the original Rossiter's MFP boots.

Here's another option I've just come across.... Actually found the link on Adam's Abbyshot site.

The motorcowboy boots pale in comparison to a pair of modified Russian officer boots, and the latter is also cheaper.

Motorcowboy failed to capture the spirit of the boots, IMHO. And I'm the one who got them to make them.

Wow! That price has gone up a lot. A few years ago , they went for about $20 apiece. CW reenactors were always buying them ...even though they were completely wrong for the time period!

A great source for "Stage Guns" is http://www.westernstageprops.com

They carry rubber guns and non-firing replicas (as well as blank firing guns) that look very real and have the same weight as the real thing. Plus good people to deal with. Oh, and I think they still make a rubber pump shotgun which I've seen and would look perfect as a prop in a car.I don't think they make rubber double barrelled shotguns though...although if enough oreders could be placed, who knows?
