OK, long shot here, but does anybody remember "The Car"
starring James Brolin? The deal was, this Barris-custom
Lincoln Mark III possessed by Hell cruised around the
desert running over people and the cops trying to stop
it. Awesome machine. Now, say, what if this car were
to go up against Max, Goose, Roop, Charlie and the other
MFP badasses.
I can't find any pix of the car, but do a web search
on "George Barris." He also built KITT (Knight Rider),
the General Lee, the Batmobile, and others.

I remember the movie well. Now max may be the man but that car was Demon possessed,even though it was they single most ugly car i have ever seen i think satin is a better driver then max and the gang.
P.S. George Barris also made a custom Chevy monza that was in Hot rod mag. a long time ago,it had a maxstyle monza nose.

but i think it was a take-off of a previous movie called "THE DUEL" i believe....This film was mad in the 70s i think. The basic story line was of this average guy driving across the dessert (in the US) where he comes across this old 18 wheeler truck carring a fuel tanker trailer...you never see the driver of the truck...which really looked old and battered....he overtakes the truck but then later the truck speeds up are overtakes him again,the truck then pursues this guy in the car destroying buildings, phone booths..etc..the film was pretty good... but i cant remember the actors name..but i think it was Spielberg film..(could be wrong)

Thats right, Spielbergs first full length movie , and considered by some to be a "silent" movie due to the very small amount of dialogue.
I did a search on this movie yesterday on the net, came up with one or two ok sites but nuthing which delves to deeply into it, which is a pity, but the movie itself was made initially for TV but it turned out so good that they had spielberg film extra scenes for it a year later, they were the phonebox scenes and the train scene.

It was Spielberg's first tv movie (ABC movie of the week I think?). I think his first directors job was in a vignette on Night Gallery with Joan Crawford as a blind woman who gets her site back.
Duel was indeed an atmospheric and memorable film from when I was a kid.
Didn't Richard Matheson write it?

Anyway yeah I remeber that show. Couldnt see the freakin driver. Didnt they run that sucker off a cliff in the end. Whoops gave it away.
Well anyway a good and bad movie. But I think Max could take em with goose running scout.
